Writing Goal for the Day?

Book reviews are finished! Now for a break and then to tackle the rest of the Holly chapter.

Good for you. I may try to see if I can finish up ch5 of my hockey story. If not -- more crocheting. If I'm going to have tired arms, it might as well in the effort of doing something constructive.

thanks. and Good luck to you as well. I'm off to write Holly now.

the elusive sex scene is complete as is the after scene. Now onto part two and a knock down drag out brawl that leaves a few people dead.

Gotta love hand to hand combat scenes on a sex site.

Well, I actually did a decent amount of work on the new chapter of Holly. Should (should) be able to finally finish it tomorrow, but it's not like I haven't been saying that a while:rolleyes:

Okay, I blogged. That counts for something, as I hate blogging.

SA PennLady, I love blogging, and that's a problem, because I use it as an excuse not to finish the story I've been working on. Blogging and quibbling are great ways to avoid serious work. Tax Court has been interesting lately (if you get off on the at-risk rules or phony partnership games with distressed debt pre-2004), and DG Hear and SilkStockingsLover have been sending me copy. I can always hope for more from Ilmonamour or a chance to quibble Serenissima Syd.

I did manage to add a few paragraphs to Ch 4 today. Maybe I can add a few more over the Labor Day holiday.

But your posts about pains in your arms worry me. Have you seen an orthopedist? You could be doing serious damage to yourself. That crocheting looks like a ton of hard work. Those directions were impenetrable.

Estragon, my problem with blogging is that if I'm doing that, I'm not writing on stories. Right now, I feel like it's one more drain on my time. But I did it!

I've had problems on and off with my arms for a long time, and some years ago, before moving to PA, I did see (I think) a neuro-muscular guy. I think the prescription was warmth, cold, and naproxen. It just really is a problem when it comes to "resting" my arms -- I have a husband, two kids and a house. There are rooms to clean, meals to cook, etc. And, well, I just have to write. :) But I promise I'll do what I can.

As for the crocheting instructions -- fear not. They're merely in a bit of a code. I learned the code a long time ago. ;) No problems. Lots of stitches, but no problems.

Ch 12 is itching to be finished. No writers block, just no time. I got about a half hour or so this morning, and fell into the groove remarkably fast, but couldn't stay there because of time.

Very frustrating.

I went to a college football game last night. Wasn't real interested in the game, so was happy to discover that I could download a kindle book onto my phone. So I at least got to finish a good book I'd been reading by one of my favorite Lit authors (cough cough PL cough cough).....

Sorry Syd. :-/ I know that feeling. Hope you get your groove back later. ;)

Well, the parents came up for a surprise visit, which was actually quite helpful, as Dad could help us with the rearranging. We now have more furniture in our dining room, which I hope translates into less crap lying around on the floor. We shall see. Right now, need a break. I did, however, also organize the little girl's clothes, which needed doing in a big way.

So, later and/or tomorrow, I can get a little more organized and actually put stuff away on shelves, in cabinets and in drawers. Wa hoo.

I seriously hope this gives me a bit of release from some mental clutter too.

Seeing I have an upcoming fight scene I came up with the brilliant idea of going to the dojo and finding a sparring partner to "choreograph" the scene.

I have done this before and it works. I can't do a 'blow by blow' but can get a general feeling for things.

Unfortunately I got a little carried away and pulled off a flying spin kick that yes my character can pull off (as could I a few years back), but I with the irregular cartilage in my right knee has no business attempting.

It's swelled up like a balloon and if no better by later tonight it is off to the ER. Worse than the pain and the embarrassment is the wife's incessant "What the hell were you thinking?"

LC - Ouch! I hope it's nothing serious. What were you thinking??? (Couldn't resist.)

We tried to return to Houston from Austin, only to discover that all of central Texas is on fire and the roads are closed. Back to the brothers house. Darn! I guess we'll just drink sangria!

Yeah, really, LC, where was your head? hehehe

Wow, Syd, take it easy and be careful.

well....... lesson plans are finished, papers are graded, and my weekly column is written and sent to the editor, BUT no fun writing and I'm up to the sex scene in Holly three!

LC68, you and SA Penn Lady really should try (I know it's impossible, but at least try) to take it a wee bit easier. If either or both of you ever gets to NYC, I'll buy you a beer at Jake's; that may calm you down a little.

Thanks for the thought. :)

No writing done -- but the second totoro is done! Pic tomorrow.

Syd --that's some wild stuff.

Discovering transferable aspects of other art forms is part of my daily routine. Music and writing are close relatives. Music is writing with the intelligence removed; that is, music is experience minus thinking. So good writing is closer to experience, too.

This vid adds a synthesized choir, and better illustrates my point about the human voice.

Okay -- done! Here are the totoros. Naturally, the Little Girl wants one of the bigger ones. However, I need more yarn for that. And a break.

So, here we are on the last day before school starts. Much was done yesterday, and there are still things to do, but the hub is agreeable to me getting some writing time today. That should be nice. Here's hoping I can finish R&B5 (the hockey story) and maybe even start R&B6.

Well ended up at the damn ER. They think it is just a sprain but will be going for an MRI tomorrow. Best case scenario a few days with a brace and crutches GRRRR!

Good thing is as I was sitting there with my leg up I banged out 12,000 words last night and have done 3,000 already this morning.

Bad news is the wife is still busting my balls and I can't even chase the wench down give her what she deserves.

However she did bring up that there could be a good nurse/patient plot bunny here somewhere.

Oh, geez. I hope it's not too serious. And yes, there's likely a good plot bunny there. Have fun with it. ;)

I could crochet you a Cthulu if it'd help. :D

And of course if you talk people's ears off about others engaging in these art forms, maybe they won't realize that you're actually not doing anything yourself. ;)

Hub took the kids, I took care of some dishes and put some chicken into cook, and have relocated to the cool bedroom to see about writing. Got a movie and a snack and I'm good, I hope.

That would be awesome! You have to autograph it for me though. Maybe embroider your name on it.
