writing format

No, just curious, like I said. But thanks for the free helping of condescension. Oh, and for not actually answering the question.

Just handing your helping back. And I did answer the question. :D

I think you perceived some "helping" where there was none. Do you handle every conversation like some kind of penny-ante pissing contest in your daily life, too?

No, I'll leave that to you.

I'm pretty sure I have provided more substantive discussion to this thread than you have.

Sorry JB, but you're wrong. Pilot would have been stuffed in the locker, had he not attended some wimpy little private school, where you knew who the tough kids were because they....
wore their shirts untucked!

I'm told PILOT attended Saint Pia Zadora Academy for Girls. I assume the girls stuffed him in his locker.

I doubt I would read a story in the proposed format. It reminds me of having to read plays in HS and college and i don't like reading plays unless it's for a performance.

That being said, experimentation is encouraged in all fields of artistic endeavor, so go for it ... and happy writing. :D

Writing using script format is something to experiment with but as a reader, I would find the format distracting. Most likely, regardless of how good the story was, I would probably rate it lower than if was written in paragraph format. One option for you to consider is to post the story in script format and paragraph form. After posting the story in each format look at the scores and comments to gage readers' reactions.

I stopped after the first line. I don't assimilate scripts, whether for live theatre or television. But as sr7plt says, this is a free-fire zone. Post whatever the mods or the bots will allow, tell all hands to man their anti-trolling stations, and stand by for lunch.

watcha making? do you take special requests?

;)

Tat, sorry, lunch today was a Lean Cuisine single serving straight from the freezer to the microwave; it was allegedly sweet and sour chicken with rice. I took the quote "stand by for lunch" from an Armed Forces Radio DJ who ran a country music program many years ago called The D-Bar-T Jamboree. He'd do the usual required announcements, then start the music with a shout of "stand by for lunch!" Oh nostalgia.

I havent seen anything like that on Lit before...which is a compelling reason to submit it.
I would read it.
If its a good story, it will work for me and at least some other people.
Good luck :)

Thank you I think Im going to submit it in both formats as was suggested to me. I will definaly will post a link to both. I do apperciate all of the advice, & my hubby/Master (who was raised by an English teacher) has agreed to help me with my conversion from script to normal! Hes a perfectionist so itll drive him insane untill he feels that its good enough for all of your eyes. tehehehe
