Writing Exercise

I updated the first post in the thread, and the original schedule post to have links to the three stories that are up so far. Well, mine is supposedly up, even though I have to navigate to my name to find the story (about 5 days ago it showed the publishing date as 3/9/07 which I thought was weird since it was only 3/3/07).

I usually don't like stories in the first person, but I did like yours. It flowed well and it wasn't confusing or stifled like some seem to be. It was vivid, as though someone was recounting a story to me personally.

On a similar note, I just got around to reading your story (got home late last night and only had the energy to look up the stories, not actually read them). Period pieces don't usually excite me, but I definately felt the erotic tension mount throughout.

Trombonus, your story was really good as well. A very clear narration style that makes it easy to forget that I'm actually reading something instead of seeing it in my head.

It's funny how that happens--your muse just taps you and there you go

I'm starting to think the Chain Story genre isn't a very popular one for reads and votes. Of course, it often seems to take my stories a long time to pass the 10 vote threshold, but usually not get past 5 votes.

I wasn't too concerned about reads/votes for this project, myself. I turned voting off for mine, since I wasn't really writing for the general public this time around.

Though I think you might be right about the genre thing. Some genres just do better than others. It really depends on what's popular with the readers right now, (genre wise...).

I wouldn't worry, though. Lack of votes/reads isn't indicitive of bad work. As long as you're happy with what you do, then it's all good

I know. I'm quite happy with the rating now, since no one knows to 1-bomb the story yet But it would be nice if it qualifies at some point.

But, taking a look at the big picture, we should have a couple more stories published any day now. Scripto, vermillion, any troubles posting?

Wow! Just read through everyone's stories. I'm amazed at the different directions everyone took things.

Trom, my love, if you want any more reasons that you and I get along so well, just wait until my story posts. Great minds and all that....

Even with similar premises our two stories are still different enough.

I loved the dream as a plot device.
