Challenge: Guess this character
Description is one of the more difficult aspects of writing. Some writers feel that a mere paragraph recounting hair and eye colour and clothing is enough to suffice, yet when I think of character I like to think in dimensions greater than two. A porn/erotic character doesn't just look this way or wear these clothes or is good or bad, dominant or submissive, but is made up of gestures, idiosyncrasies (habits), and traits that make his/her "character" more rounded and real.
This challenge stems from a number of recent threads (Gauche, Dr.M) I have visited or lol started (Slash fiction).
With this in mind, I thought it might be fun to do a little descriptive writing game. Almost all of us are familiar with television and movie characters and there's a plethora of them that are famous or infamous: Yoda, Darth Vader, the Fonz (you get the drift).
My proposal is this:
To describe a known character without giving us a name or a physical appearance, but only through other aspects that make up character like gestures, traits, dialogue, action etc. It can be written in any genre that is listed as a category on Lit.
The goal to see if we can aptly describe an already established character by reinventing that character in a sex setting. The success of the goal is determined by how many Ahers can actually guess the character you describe.
Parameters:
1. The preference is to describe at least one TV or film character that would be familiar enough to the greatest number of AHers so that they might guess who the character is. In other words, not describing some obscure secondary character like a munchkin from the Wizard of Oz or giving away familiar dialogue one liners like "Come on, make my day", although inventive variations of dialogue are welcome.
2. Your character can come from any TV or movie genre including comedy, horror, reality TV, or even Home and Garden.
3. Length of the scene/description should be kept to a minimum of not over 1000 words.
Just feeling the proposed challenge out at the moment and want to see if/ and/ or how many people would be interested.
Cheers!
