Finally, I got a PM from EM Master.

I wasn't sure how to properly reply to his request, so I'm submitting it to you guys to get your feedback. I hope I didn't disapointed him.

Tell me my Pet a little bit about yourself, what you like to do and have done to you, and be specific, you do not want to disappointment me when I ask for something.

A little bit about myself and what I like to do:

I eat meat. But I'm not political about it. I'm a sucker for spicy food. I also have a new love for scotch. And an old undying love for coffee (espresso, black). I don't particularly care for chocolate or anything sweet though. I'm happy to give my share. I have two fat tabby cats that are adorable. And a roomate that has absolutely no concept of cleanliness and order. I often daydream of the day I'll make enough money to live by my own. I am a bit anal about personal space. I am chronically 15 minutes late. I put way too much time into getting ready, but I like to think that the result is worth it. I have a thing for red. I really enjoy baking and I've recently started to crochet. I can't sing on key to save my life, but I love singing anyways. I waste way too much time reading blogs online and the missed connections section on CL. My idea of a good time involves building cushion forts in my living room or doing snow angels. Most of my time right now is spent on writting a book on pedagogical practices in academia, trying to re-locate classroom knowledge and skills within the demands and constraints of global capital and Empire in order to expose the colonial erasures, violences, and desires that are obscured when a pedagogic hegemonologue is being spoken over and against (O)ther ways of knowing and living. And while I usually don't do favorites (unfair for the others that don't get picked), I never get tired of watching Edwig and The Angry Inch and Graveyard of The Fireflies, and I think that Zygmunt Bauman has a lot of insightful things to say about love.

What I like to have done to me? Hmmm... there's a bunch of things I like to have done for me, but to me...? Oh yes - I would LOVE to finally find a hair dresser who could cut my hair properly. The only person who's been able to do something both stylish and easy enough to maintain with my hair is one of my high school friend, but she lives in my hometown, somewhere 10 hours drive from where I live right now. So it's not very convenient when I need a haircut. And since I keep my hair short now, well, I need a haircut every 6 weeks or so. See, the thing with my hair is that I really don't have a lot of it, it's very thin with not much body, and it's neither straight nor curly. So, there's a bunch of hair style that I really can't wear -- it just doesn't suit my hair. Or it just take way too much maintenance to have it looking good. I still have to find a hairdresser that will listen to what I tell him/her about my hair and the many constraints associated with it, and take it into account when cutting my hair. Of course, if I was to go in one of those super high-end kind of beauty salon, I could probably get a decent haircut. But I refuse to pay 120$ before tip for a simple haircut. We're not even talking about color here. Just the cut and styling. Ridiculous. So, what I've been doing lately is going to the professional beauty schools - like the Vidal Sassoon one - and get my hair cut by one of the students. It's really cheap - about 30$ - and usually very good quality service and haircut. What's annoying though is that while a basic haircut and styling normally takes about an hour at a professional and established hairdresser, it will usually takes about 3 hours to get your hair cut by one of those students because they go very slow, and need to have every step of the cut approved and supervised by the teacher.
So, anyways - this is the one single thing that I would most like to have done to me: my hair cut and styled with a result that is both cute and funky, AND easy enough to maintain.

And can someone explains to me why, my god why, hairdressers refuse to listen to what I have to say about my hair and what can be done with it and what can't?

Like they keep wanting to use the razor-like thingie to give it some layers. Really. Bad. Idea. This thing works great on very straight hair. On somewhat curly and very fine hair, it just makes it look damaged. I know. I've had my hair butchered with the thing more than once. But those fuckers keep on wanting to use it on my hair and get offended when I tell them it's a no go. I understand that you're the professional here, but maybe the fact that I've been wearing this hair for all my life should give me some credential and authority as well in terms of knowing what's possible to do with it or not. But apparently not.

I will say that the rusk thickr line of products has been handy, and also that my hair was amazingly normal when I punk rock bleached it. I am thinking about forcing my colorist to strip ALL the color out of it and then color it dark. (when I have 100 bucks to burn again, ha) The problem isn't that it's damaged, it's that it's healthy and slippery. They love razoring my hair too, which is OK but then they insist on putting pomade and wax in it, hello, instant grease bomb.

But I want to see what Master says.

Re: hair. And yes, after home bleaching and coloring my hair marylin-blond and then the next day coloring it dark brown -- I've never seen anything uglier than me in blond -- my hair is much more easy to style and control.

That's the trick Bi-Bunny. Damaging your hair. And I find there are two hair style that works on my hair: either long and barely layered like yours, or like I have now - see av - chin-lenght short on the front sides, much shorter on top and on the back. This style, combined with the damaged hair and the right products makes it almost easy to style.

I too am anxious to hear back from Master.

And thanks for the hair tips, guys. Maybe I'll straighten and dye my hair black again on the same day next time. (No, I don't have goth girl fantasies. My hair's naturally only a shade or two lighter than black, anyway, and I've found that black's the only color that'll really cover my stubborn premature gray. Yes, I'm 24 years old, and I have salt-and-pepper hair already. ) So much of it falls out on normal days that it's not like it matters if it makes more of it fall out.
