Wow! Someone’s having a good day,

Two good comments and three new followers.

I don’t know what I did to deserve this but I hope I do it again tomorrow.

Anyone else having a good day, lit-wise? Let’s share the joy.
Having followers can be pleasing, but they don't seem to vote or comment that much. Like I will get two votes and no comments, say, so what are those 148 people doing?

Some good news: I have finished "principal photography" - I mean, I've finished the first full draft of the Geek Pride entry. Only a little over 11,000 words, but that's fine. I expect this draft will be fairly close to the final story.

My new story, published a few days ago, hit a 4.95 score before I got my first 1-bomb. Off 45 votes (which is quite a lot for my stuff, as I don't have a lot of followers). Pretty happy with that!

Yeah, they don’t say much, but if they’re there they must like something I’m doing, and the more there are the more I feel like I’m doing an adequate job (especially in the current story where it’s plot heavy).

Well done on finishing your draft. Finishing a story is a great feeling. Have this emoji representation of a drink on me.

That’s spectacular! I usually bounce just above 4 so you’ve done something right.

The most votes I’ve got is 44 (I don’t include the 50 votes as I accidentally posted that story twice) so that’s a decent amount.

Enjoy this emoji of a cake to celebrate.

Going a bit slowly with my latest. The downside of writing mid-length stories is it takes people time to read them I guess 🤷‍♀️,

Still, if you’re managing to increase your word count that’s still good. Catch some rays with this emoji of sunshine.

I hit 1300 followers, which was nice. And I've been getting really nice comments, mostly, on older stories. A few people losing their minds still, but mostly people that got what I was going for, or tell me they're on their third re-read and love it more than ever, or, like one I just got, that they'd only ever given 3 5* ratings in 8 years, and mine was one. So, yeah. Pretty good day.

Oh! And I just finished my entry for On The Job, although I have to edit it still.

Brilliant. That’s tons of followers and praise from a fickle reader at the same time. Nice.

It ain't your writing, hon. It's as much about exposure as anything. LW has a huge bunch of eyeballs in it, and that's got as much to do with it as anything. There are several folks on here, you included, that deserve to have a ton of followers, based solely on the quality of the work you put out. Just the nature of where the readers are.

I can’t conceive of doing LW stuff. No appeal.

I have an On The Job story done. Determination was meant to be for Geek Pride, but I finished it a month early and have negative patience 😬.

It takes me about 3 months to have 9 comments. Sigh.
I’m 13 comments in just over a year. I guess the more you do the more reactions you get, and the smarter we get over tags the easier it is to get new views.

For getting 9 comments in 3 months you win a trip in this emoji helicopter 🚁

I personally, do not leave comments very often.
There are simply too many stories and not enough time in the day.

If a story is really good.
If a story is really bad.
If I just simply love the story, then I'll leave a comment.

Comments help me remember which story it is, or what I liked about it, when I come back to look at it a year later.
