Would you do this?

I just watched a story on 20/20 about a woman who lived as a man for 18 months as research for a book.

So I was wondering, would you? Would you live as the opposite gender, let's say for a month? And if you did, what would you most like to experience?

Only if I could have boobs like in that av I had a couple weeks ago.

You do know, don't you that it's highly frowned upon to fondle yourself in public? ;)

At this point I'd do damn near anything to get out of this body... but to be male, ah, thinking nope. But then again, it'd be interesting. I just don't have a big curiosity about being a man.

I think that whole, 'spit, swear, scratch' thing is over-rated.

i would ONLY do it if i could have an orgasm as a woman.... as i think is typical for most men. but since this broad just dressed/acted like a man i really don't find it that intriguing. of course, i think it's easier for a woman to dress/act like a man than it is for a man to dress and act like a woman... we just have some kind of block against doing this.

besides... like tim allen said... "men are pigs... too bad we own everything."

I just don't think I'd want to live as a man. I think men are under too much stress. Women are too, but it's more acceptable for a woman to show her emotions freely, thus eliminating a source of stress.

Of course, I wouldn't miss the period thing, but when you get to be my age, it's almost over anyway. ;)

That's what good beer is for.
just as a side comment... thank you for saying GOOD beer. there's entirely too much shitty beer swilled in this country.

*Ahem* Have you looked at your av lately? :catroar:

I'd have to pass on this opportunity. I have always liked being a man.

If I could physically transform into a hot chick hell yeah i would. I'd have lots of sex. But not for a month. I'd have to be able to change back and forth.

I have always wanted to try this, just to see what it's like for the other half. To be the pursued, rather than ther pursuer. And yes, to see what the female orgasm feels like.

In fact I try to live as neither gender. Though it's anatomicaly clearly definded, there's no difference for me inside. I learned, that very few people are that way and most are male or female outside and inside, too but beside anatomy, I wouldn't fit into either.
Since I prefer clothes on both men and women that look often very "male", I think almost no one but a few very close friends who know, would ever suspect anything... :D

Looking like a woman would need much makeup I think, and I hate it on both men and women... :D

No... I'd make a pretty ugly woman.

yeah... you sure would :p

As for the original question, I would not want to live as the opposite gender for a month. I was just starting to figure out how my body was working/reacting to things as a woman, I'd hate to start trying to figure out how to act like a man on top of all of that stuff.

Well, the woman who did it has certainly gotten a lot of publicity for her book. I've since seen her on two other shows this week.

I am not sure about being undercover like she was. Might be interesting, but I doubt interesting enough to make it worth it.

But if i could actually be transformed into a real, full functional woman for a time, yes definitely! I would even be interested in doing it longer than a month. I am not sure how long I would want to go, but I think longer than a month. It would be fascinating, I think.

I actually bought and read that book after seeing her on a show. Verrry interesting! Some of her insights about what men go through on a daily basis made me feel a touch sorry for men: needing to be 'tough' all the time in the workplace and when with each other; the lack of emotional expression being stifling to her (since she was used to being free to express herself as a woman all her life); dealing with rejection in dating; not having an emotional outlet unless with women; the pressures men have to be providers and successful...

At the same time, she also expressed a freedom that women don't have: freedom to walk down the street without worrying about rapists or physcial attacks; freedom to speak without constant interruption by other men; freedom to be assertive or even aggressive without being considered a feminazi; freedom to be invisible (no one checking out her breasts); freedom from sexual harassment; freedom to speak knowing he'd be taken seriously...

I wouldn't do it just to dress and act as a man, but if I could actuall BE a man for a while, I'd love to - just to feel sex from a man's body!
