Worst/Ugliest car you ever owned?

The truck was in bad shape but I needed a ride. I bought it super cheap from someone's friend. I knew it needed work, but the thing was just bad luck.

I got pulled over for speeding in the thing. I did not know that my license was suspended for not paying a ticket that I had gotten on one of my older trucks-- a 1980 Ford Ranger (that I loved.)

The Ranger was left out on the street in front of the shop one night without tags, registration or insurance. I was doing body work on it.

It was ticketed and towed! I got the truck back but I forgot to pay the ticket. I moved and never got the letter in the mail informing me that my license was suspended.

A 1978 (faded) yellow Chevy Nova. During a second tour in Bangkok, I decided we just had to have two cars, and I bought this many hands later from a Marine at JUSMAG. Drove it for two years and sold it for more than I paid for it. Ugliest car, but it held up well, even in the rivers the Thai called streets.

Nova's where always good cars to modify. Lots of engine space and a strong rear end. As a modified Muscle car they are no too bad.

Better than a white convertible Lebaron at any rate.....

That same model today, completely cherry is worth some cash. It was a great design and not ugly at all....

One of these was my first ride. I think it's the same model. It's as old as me.

It was probably an ok car once, but I got it in the end of the 90's when it was about two decades of maltreatment away from acceptable condition.

It had gear 1, 2, 4 and 6, and great floor ventilation. Somehow it passed inspection once and I scrapped it the next year.

This was mine...Totaled my Mustang and my mom gave me her car. It was new at the time but wow was it a POS...

(same color and all..)

I remember that car, leaked like a sieve.

It's a toss-up between two cars for me.

The first was a Ford Anglia. I gave the damn thing away within 2 weeks of getting it.

The second was an AMC Concord station wagon. Suitable to be driven by circus midgets only. That one was free so nothing lost when it went.

Had an Audi Fox station wagon from sometime in the seventies. Took it to Cyprus because we were told not to bring any American brand cars there--there were no mechanics who knew how to handle them. Turns out they didn't know what to do with an Audi Fox either. They kept trying to put Volkswagen parts in it. It was a sporty little thing, though, despite being a station wagon.

The one good thing about ugly cars is that they don't get broken in to or stolen.
No self-respecting thief wants bragging rights to a Daewoo.

I began with a Fiat Panda - the old type. Looked like a child's drawing of a car - a box on wheels - and was just as aerodynamic as that implies. The door began to fall off once on a motorway, and I had to slip the seatbelt through the doorhandle and strap it in. It lasted thirty miles or so, bless it, probably because the metal was essentially tinfoil and therefore very light. And it would do at least 20 mph more downhill than on the flat.

But it wasn't downright ugly at all. Not Fiat Multipla/Nissan Juke ugly. Those cars look as if they were not so much designed as congealed.

I've only ever owned one car. Dodge Stratus. It's meh, but it's gotten me from A to B for the past ten years.

Pictures are from the Net, not the actual cars. I didn't want pictures of them at the time.

A Morris Marina passed on by my in-laws:

It was a poor design, didn't like going round corners and was very unreliable. My father-in-law was very pleased to get rid of it.

For a few weeks I owned one of these, a Moskvich 412:

The brakes and steering were lethal even when new and properly adjusted. The one I had was in poor condition, rusted throughout and dangerous. I scrapped it within a month of buying it.

First vehicle I owned was an S10 pickup in baby blue with pink racing stripes. Standard, but still crap in the snow. I used to have to put an airplane tie down in the back during winter.

It was ugly, similar to this, but green instead of blue. It had a 302 V8 with a C4 auto and a full floating rear end with p-track. 5 1/2 hours from Sand Lake area in west Anchorage to the east side of Fairbanks. My personal record.

I changed a broken pushrod in it at -50 in Fairbanks. The C4 got switched out in 1975. The kingpin bushings on the twin I-beam front end were a pure bitch to remove and replace.

You would not believe the places that van went.

78 AMC Hornet with flames shooting out of its shitty one barrel carburetor.

My first car was a '71 Cutlas convertible. It was fast, but ugly. All wavy bondo and primer brown. The intention was to restore it. On a road trip from Chicago to Cali the top ripped open like a sardine can somewhere in the Rockies.

My first vehicle was a '60 Chevy 1/2 ton stepside pickup with a 235-6, a 4-speed, bench seat and 16" tires. It was great fun.

A 1963 Dodge Dart 4 door, white, with a push button automatic transmission and a 194 slant 6 cylinder engine. The 225 slant 6 of that era was a powerful little work horse. The 194 was it's gutless little brother. Mine had the seats torn up so we put quilts over them. It also had rust holes in the fenders and quarter panels. It got me to work and back...barely, but for $350.00 I couldn't complain too much.
