Tell him that you hate that he's got this ailment, and that you have really enjoyed this time with him, all the "perks" and all that, but if he doesn't start treating you like a human, then that's all she wrote! Sounds like you have a long time to plan, a long time to enjoy and a long time for the world to change! Wouldn't it be a shame that the two of you lost each other because a medical condition would manifest itself in ten years, and the world would end in a cataclysmic upheaveal in six years?

The older I get, the more I believe in just telling it like it is. It may be harsh at times to tell someone what you feel and why you feel that way, just as it can be difficult to hear the same thing when those thoughts are directed at you. Be honest and do it in a non threatening mode. If hes a younger man Im sure he will take it very personally and be hurt. Hopefully, he will listen to what you have to say, think about it for a few days and say, "you were correct about my behavior" It sounds as if you want to be appreciated, as we all do, trying to make someone appreciate us never seems to work.
