Naughty Naughty Snoop's - isn't your lad Frings suspended for throwing a punch at an Argie  After you'd won!

I'm routing for Germany over the Italian's - largely because I didn't pick any Italian's in my Fantasy team :D

Anyways, the Dortmund crowd will give the Italians hell....I repeat HELL !!!!

Frings won't matter, he wasn't at his best in the recent games anyways.

I think I'm rooting for France. When I look back at the last rounds, they seem to be the only team of the four whose way to the semi finals is not tainted with argments about unfair refs and bad sportsmanship.

Yeah, they're only tainted with having barely qualified in the first stage. :D

That's for playing crappy football in the beginning. But it's still about playing football.

From the same guy who wrote about Van Basten's pussy outfit the other day:

The Foot in It

The English newspapers complain about the referee, about the coach, about Cristiano Ronaldo biting the hand that feeds him, and about I don't know what else. It's natural, if we had lost, we'd also be trying today to find out what went wrong. The same that are considered heroes would be called villains. It's always like this, what distinguishes a hero from a war criminal is victory. In the case of the English, the culprit was the referee. It's the only explanation they find, since bashing Eriksson doesn't get anyone off anymore, the man was on his way out anyway. Only ill-intended refereeing could accomplish the impossible, England losing* to Portugal, a country of meat-packers somewhere near Algarve.

Should the referee have expelled Rooney? Whatever the answer, it doesn't matter a thing. We don't have time to discuss it; we have to think about Wednesday. Let the English worry about it, 'cause now they don't have much else to do. It was only a little treat, they'll justify. The boy was out of balance, they'll claim. That could even possibly have been remotely true, but he was very well expelled. It's just not done, treading like that. In fact, more than like that, you don't tread on that. Ricardo Carvalho has all the look of a man with them in their place, and it was on that place that the spikes landed. When I saw the close-up of the English locomotive system crashing against the Portuguese reproductive system, it hurt me. All men bent down in solidarity, all women said "ouch, that must have hurt". He was very well expelled. You can't jeopardise the future of Portuguese football like that.

hooooookay, I'm not going to argue about it, but I'm gonna stand up for my boy.

I don't think Rooney was stamping, to me it looked like he was trying to catch is balance.

There, said it, everyone else might disagree, but I don't care. I'm sick of the papers, media, everyone trying to place blame.

At the end of the day We weren't good enough, we were lucky to get as far as we did (we scrapped through) and the boys played their hearts out, I won't have a bad thing said about any of the England lads. It just wasn't enough, and blaming Sven, the ref, Rooney, Ronaldo doesn't gain us anything.

We have lessons to learn, we need more than grit and determination and the heart of lions, but we'll be back and, damnit, sometime soon we will win the world cup.

*EL gets off soapbox*

Anyway, almost time for Germany-Italy!

I don't care who wins, as long as Cannavaro, Schweinsteiger, Pirlo, Ballack, Klose and Toni do well. Go all yous!

No chance :p It'll be a tight game with extra time and a last minute goal scored by a defender :D

As long as it's Cannavaro, in that case, the loss won't be complete. :D

Dreadful game!
The German spectators jeering during the Italian anthem and every time an Italian player received the ball is childish and unneccesary.
Germany are playing without any idea of how to get the ball near the Italian penalty area and the two goal keepers appear kick long balls to nowhere.

Are the Germans scared? Or have they just come up against a team that can play football.

The ref is having the best game - completely ignoring the theatrics of both teams.

Shameful spectacle for a World Cup semi-final.

Both teams could have scored, but Italy is looking much scarier. It seems that whenever they have the ball on their feet, they can cut through the German defence like a hot knife through butter.

The Italians are well fired up - I'm thinking that the way the crowd is towards Italy will work against Germany. Stupid buggers. ;)

Yes... that worries me given the balance of my Fantasy team :D

Aargh! I have to work and can't watch the final half! Bad planning. I think Germany's best strategy is to try and hold on for a shootout at the end. But Italy is looking hungry and I think will score any moment now!

The best thing about the game is the designer sweat patches on the Italian uniforms :D
Extra Time coming up.

LOL I thought I was the only one who had noticed that. :D

Neither team is looking that scary now. They're mostly looking boring.

<whistle :rolleyes: >

OK del Piero got another in the final seconds :D

Germany didn't deserve to win on that performance, even England could have beaten them.

Portugal - Italy in the final then.
