Oh you people are so cute.

Germany will kick some serious swedish ass in a couple of minutes.

And then in the quarters it will beat England....and if it means going to penalties, I don't care.

Maybe Brazil or Argentina will be a number too big for us, but we can and will beat everyone from Europe with our home-advantage.

Snoopy, GO GERMANY

Please spare us another Germany final!

Japan's keeper was so good! They put up a good fight against Brazil, at least in what I watched so far, the first half.

I think I'm glad I don't have to watch the USA anymore, they were so painful. :(

Well, you'll never know, since Argentine will wipe the floor withj you in the next game.

But tonight...yeah...Sweden will get humiliated. I expect no less. :D

Sorry Snoops, but "GO SWEDEN"!

I've got a £5 bet on Shevchenko to be top-scorer and Miroslav Klose is on the verge of severely cocking that up. I need Germany out of this tournament!

oops (2-0)

Lukas Podolski would've been yellow carded if I was the referee in this match. First off, he talked back to the referee, encouraging him to give an (entirely deserved) second yellow to Teddy Lucic. Then, he starts laughing as Lucic gets the red card and starts giving the ref congratulatory pats on the back whilst grinning at Lucic.

I would've turned to him and told him he was getting a yellow card for ungentlemanly conduct and if he kept it up he could follow Lucic to the bench. There's no place for behaviour like that on a sports field.

This is why I prefer rugby to football. No-one would dare use the referee as a prop in mocking an opponent and no referee would expect to take that kind of behaviour. I don't even know if 'ungentlemanly conduct' is an offence in football.

A good German attack against a unexplainably paralyzed Swedish defense. 2-0 is not unfair, although 2-1 would be more like it. We've had a good set of chances to reduce.

The ref and red card is a joke though. Not that I think it would make of break the game, the way the teams have played so far.

Prediction: 3-1

Germany clearly the better team, 2 great goals, Swedish defence a mess.

The ref's good. The red card was well deserved. All players know by heart that holding will result in a yellow card.

But I have to admit, I don't like the fact that Germany let Sweden have more ground the last fifteen minutes. One free-kick or corner could make this game become close again.

But my guess is an early goal by Germany and then we'll have a very celebratalicious afternoon. :)

GO GERMANY

Feh. Shoulda been 7 to 10 more cards then in just the first half.

But no matter, with 10 or 11 players, we don't play good enough today to deserve a win.

Germany 2 - Sweden 0 Final

Goals:
Germany
20. PODOLSKI Lukas (4')
20. PODOLSKI Lukas (12')

GER 2-0 SWE

Well, expected. Crappy defense in the first 20 minutes and a Germany that didn't make mistakes did it.

Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !

Berlin, Berlin, wir fahren nach Berlin !

Snoopy, dancing Beagle.

P.S.: I have to state though that the second half kinda limited my high spirits.

It wasn't Swedens offense making things interesting, it was their keeper. He saved shots, that normally would be unsaveable ... the score could have very easily been 5-0 or 6-0 ... Sweden just got a good ass whupping, and thats what Argentina will get next week.

No, won't work. England is on the other side of the bracket. Besides, they will have to beat Ecuador first :D ... which will be hard enough.

Yeah, I know, my bad. Got things confused.

Too bad, since it would have personally pleased me to see Germany beat them Englishmen.

25 June, a terrible day for the Dutch at the FIFA World Cup. They have lost all their games on this date, including the 1978 Final.

Some things never change... :catroar:
