She rang the office about 5 minutes ago, stating the company she was from and asking to speal to the person who handles the company communications.

"certainly... I will put you through"

2 minutes pass and i pick up the phone to find her still there...

"I'm sorry, he is just on thephone at the moment, won;t be long"

another 2 minutes and i just checked... she is still holding!

*giggle* yup.. its hell for me.

Wonder how long she will stay?

For some companies they count how long they keep someone on the line. :)

It goes into one big count of how many people they have phoned that day, and it all adds up.

So she might just be happily sitting there painting her nails while waiting. ;)

I love your cruel streak, QD. :)

When I feel like having Fun with Telemarketers, I hand the phone to one of my three year olds, who love to talk on the phone. Long, extended monologues, stringing seemingly unrelated topics together like popcorn for the tree.

hmmm just checked... she's gone.

oh well, that was a good run.

You know what she’s doing right now? Sitting there reading her novel. Yup.

I'm honestly trying to end my killjoy ways!

That was just a temporary set back.

:D

Ruby,

That is heinous and evil and it really shocks me that you could be so mean.

It is cruel and unusual punishment.

May I borrow one of the twins?

with a smile like yours, how could you possibly be a killjoy?

mona: would you have me any other way?

99, the urge to be so cruel only hits me about once a month or so.

Sorry, they're a matched set. I'd be more than happy to lend them to you for a weekend or so. :)

Uh... that's ok. ;)

I have my own method guaranteed to not only get rid of a telemarketer, but to have them spread the word around to all similar companies.

I ask them to hold for a moment and then I start playing the piano. If they are still there, I start singing too. Works like a charm!

Savor the flavor, 'cause it doesn't happen often.

It never happens to me anymore, but that's because I put myself on the call-block list for telemarketers our state has.
