Women: what writing style do you prefer?

The "For Women" tag on Pornhub (for example) is a curious mix: high-budget, soft-focus vanilla porn and hardcore BDSM stuff that borders non-consent. I know that observation isn't breaking any new ground, but I'm curious: are women's tastes divided in the same way for erotica? Or does the cliché that men prefer images and women prefer ideas hold true?

It depends on the reader, not the writer...
What excites me would bore you and of course the reverse is also true.
We are all different... No two humans are the same.
There is no magical answer.
Treat women like human beings, and if what is written is done so well. It may or may not arouse....

A very thoughtful answer. Thank you.

Don't mention snakes and get to the point. If you're writing a story for masturbation purposes, 1-2 pages is good.
You're kidding? That's mowing the lawn with a two-stroke. Where's the pleasure in something that's over so quickly?

One page = 3750 words. For me, that's a few minutes read. A one page Lit story is rarely ever long enough to be arousing. But then, I'm not sixteen.
I'm 70. I've been around. I know good writing. And good erotica. I don't think it's too much to expect a good story that takes no more than 10 minutes to get off.

You read a lot slower than me, then. A one page Lit story is a three minute quick scan for me, and if that's all it is, it's not going to have much depth, and I won't be hanging on every word.

Whatever.

Apart from a few inspiring 750s, I don't think I've met a good 1-page story on Lit.

Stories I like tend to be at least two pages, taking the time not just to say what happened, but why it happened and how, with some vivid imagery that separates it from just another list of sex acts. And have real people in. I really dislike the heavy make-up look of most porn, to the extent that I recently realised an episode of Only Connect was more erotic than anything I'd found in half an hour browsing PornHub...

But also, reading stories and getting off are two very separate activities as far as I'm concerned. Reading gets me in the mood, then I and some human or electric assistants do the rest.

Four of my most powerful stories are shorter than one Lit page. My most controversial story is shorter than one page. My most popular story is shorter than one page.

It all depends on what you're trying to achieve.

3-4 lit pages is the sweet spot for me. I find the pieces longer than that tend to have lots of needless exposition or meaningless dialogue. We don’t need to know every little thing a character says, thinks or does. Give it some breathing room. Let us fill in the blanks.
