After a recent visit to the neighborhood newsstand and noticing the myriad of adult mags there for sale, it made me wonder what compels a woman to strip down & pose for one of these publications?

It's not just anonymously where one can cover their face as is with some pics seen in the Amateur Pics section, these beautiful women are more than recognizable! We see just about everything! And it's not like these gals are second tier runway model types either- some are stone cold gorgeous and could easily out do any super model.

And with most of these mags, it's no longer like the days of Playboy where one poses "tastefully" anymore. Some mags show the women in full blown fuck action with various men & women as well as a few of them entertaining dildos galore. Not that I'm complaining by any stretch... but I've always wondered what makes a gorgeous woman do something as socially risque as this??

And if you had the body & look that these magazines are looking for- would you do it??

I've also wondered about the social ramifications once the magazines hit the newsstands.

I don't think the intent is to stay in porn films....how many actresses have old nude photos etc come forth after they have made it big. I was suggesting they wanted to be legitimate actors.

A lot of Penthouse & Hustler girls go on to do porn or feature dancing. Those careers might not be long lived but they can make MAD cash while doing it
A few of them go on to "legit" careers as well, even if only in "B" films

I saw a television show "Boston Public" and a women at the school was a model for a magazine "Just 18" or something like that. And she said the reason she was doing it is because she was brought up to believe that her body was beautiful and that she was comfortable with everyone seeing it. Her parents diddnt mind it either. That was just a show though point i was trying to make is that maybe if your brought up to believe theres no harm in showing off your body then its just natural?

I posed nude for an art photographer when I was 18. No...they werent raunchy crotch shots....I did it once bymyself and once with another girl. (my first and only lesbian expereince)

From what I understand, and this depends on the class of magazine, but it mostly boils down to money.

Playboy pays a ton of bucks to a centerfold model, PLUS you almost always get a chance to appear on playboy tv. Posing for playboy is a surefire way to rocket propel a career in the adult film industry.

Even the raunchiest and crappiest of magazines pays fairly decently. Imagine getting 5 grand for spending a couple hours naked under a camera's eye. When you're young and hungry that kind of money doesn't just fall into your lap.

I imagine with the onset of the internet, a lot more people seeking self validation will end up putting pressure on the smaller magazines. After all, a net connection and a digital camera are all one needs to post naked pictures of yourself. Although how that provides self validation is beyond me.
