I know this bed and breakfast... and I know of the rumors...
they swear they're true

I rented this house in Eastern Oregon. I kind of fell in love with it because of all the windows and a huge master bedroom and walk in closet and bath......The house was too large for one person, but what the heck I was fullfilling a whim.
It used to be an adult foster home.

Things started out just a little odd. I could swear I heard foot steps at night roaming throughout the house. I kept telling myself it was just house noises. Well then other things started to happen. I always use two towels when I shower. When I would finish I would throw them over the shower curtain, half on one side and half on the other. There were about 3 times I came home and they were on a pile on the floor, on top of each other. even though I had them laying flat across the bar. Then one morning I had gotten out of the shower and hung my towels up. I started the lotion routine and out of the corner of my eye I saw the towels come down in a heap and a cold breeze blew over me that even stired my hair... That creeped me out.

Then one night I was in bed and I heard the walking around as usual, but this time I heard the foot steps come into the bedroom. I became a little more alert. Then I felt the pressure of someone sitting on the edge of the bed. I freaked and started waving my arms. Of course I got up and turned on all the lights and searched the house, there was of course nothing.

Then in one of the bed rooms I had my office where my computer was. I often would email my friends in the evening or play on LIT.....well I got up to go get some tea. I walked by the utility room which lead to a couple of other rooms and the garage. I always kept the door shut and the outerroom locked up to save on heat and electricity. I was only in the kitchen a couple of minutes. When I came back the utility door was open and the lights were on. In fact all the doors to the other rooms were open and the lights were on. Now, I admit I had to scream. I droped my tea, and grabbed my glock hand gun. I went through the house, all the perimeter doors were locked. I did an extremely dilligent search. I relocked all the doors again. But I slept than night with the lights on and a gun under my pillow.

After a couple of months, I couldn't take it anymore and had to move out. On moving day, my parents came to help and so did my realator. Mom and I would carry a box through the utility room and down the hall and out through the garage. It was a sunny day with no wind, so all the doors were open. But, every time the realator went through the utility, the door would slam so hard behind her that the windows rattled. It happened 7 times. My mom was really freaked. We were almost done loading, they wouldn't even come back in the house to help me clean. I had to do it by myself.....

Haunted and Creaking Bumps..Mwwwwwhhhhhaaaaa
When Anne and I purchased our new home from an eighty nine year old woman her daughter told us that her father had worked himself ot death making the two apartments underneath. During our first month here we found his ghost to be very disturbing. coming into our bedroom at awkward moments. Bringing balloons from a nine and a half foot ceiling under a six and a half foot doorway. Moving things that were left in certain places. We finally decided we couldn't live with him any longer and told him where his wife had moved to and sent him on his way. He has not been back now the only ghosts in our house are our own family. ;)

:) I have heard about many haunted places all of the world. I need to try and remember some so I can post them

here are some ghost stories from the queen mary

The First-Class Swimming Pool, no longer in use, has been the location of many ghost sightings. There have been reports of women dressed in vintage bathing suits wandering the decks near the pool, the sound of splashing and a trail of wet footprints leading from the deck to the changing rooms. Although no drownings have been documented, this location has been described by experts as the vortex for the paranormal activity aboard the ship and allows ghosts from other realms an entrance to the Queen Mary.

The Queen's Salon, the former First-Class Lounge, has been the backdrop for many sightings, yet the details of the story rarely change. It seems that a beautiful young woman, in an elegant white evening gown is often seen dancing alone in the shadows. One of the most chilling sightings occurred when a little girl on a tour pointed out a "woman in white". Looking around, the tour guide saw nothing, however the little girl insisted and kept pointing to a corner of the room, the guide still did not see anything and continued on with the tour. The little girl continued to repeat her observation, not knowing that she was just one of many to make the same report.

The Queen Mary was painted a camouflage gray and transformed into a troopship and nicknamed "The Grey Ghost" during World War II. The Grey Ghost proved herself as an important member of the allied forces and Adolf Hitler offered a $250,000 reward and the Iron Cross to any submarine captain who could sink her. While performing a routine zigzag pattern, she sliced the British cruiser H.M.S. Curacao in half. Over 300 British soldiers went down with the Curacao. Forty years later, a television crew left their audio recorder running overnight in the exact location where the two ships have collided. As the tape played back the next day, incredible sounds of pounding could be heard. Others have claimed to hear voices and blood-curdling noises from the same area.

Many occurrences have been taken place within the confines of a number of first-class staterooms. There have been reports of running water in the middle of the night, the phone ringing at early hours of the morning and lights suddenly turning on in the middle of the night. Passengers have reported hearing heavy breathing and people tugging on the bed covers, only to realize that there was no one in the room with them. One such event happened early one morning as a tour guide was taking interior photographs. One picture, which captured the cabin's beautiful tinted mirror, was taken from across the room. When the photos were developed, the particular print featured the reflection of a tall dark haired man in the mirror. This would not be considered very unusual except for the fact that the man in the photo was wearing a 1930s-style suit, and did not resemble the picture-snapping tour guide in the least.

Leigh Travers Smith died a few hours after birth, but not without heroic attempts by ship's surgeons to save his life. There have been reports that late at night a baby's cry can be heard from the room that once was the site of the Third-Class Children's Playroom.

One of the great maritime mysteries is that of the Mary Celeste.
Over 125 years ago, the ship was found floating, crewless, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, in apparent pristine condition. The fate of the crew and passengers has never been adequately explained.

The Mary Celeste was launched in 1861, from the shipyard at Spencer's Island near the head of the Bay of Fundy, under the name Amazon. Following an accidental grounding at Cow Bay in Cape Breton in 1868, she was repaired and renamed the Mary Celeste. She operated under an American flag out of New York.

On November 7, 1872, the Mary Celeste sailed under the command of Captain Benjamin Briggs bound for Europe with a cargo of wines and liquors. He was accompanied by his wife, his young daughter and a crew of seven.

On December 4, 1872, the Mary Celeste was found floating 600 miles off Gibraltar. The official reports stated that everything to be in good order, except that the ship's paper and it's chronometer were missing. The last entry into the captain's logs, on November 24, gave no indication of anything untoward happening or about to happen.

This is where the story gets a little murky and the mystery deepens.

The condition of the Mary Celeste, at the time of her discovery at sea, vary according to the reporter. One report suggested that there were bloodied weapons on board and blood on some of the sail. If this is true it suggests a pirate attack, something that was common in that area around that period. But if it was a pirating, why was the money box and the ship's cargo of wine and liquor not taken?

Another area of conflicting observation is whether or not the only lifeboat was still strapped to the ship.

Some other theories put forward over the years concerning the Mary Celeste have included:

the entire crew may have been swept overboard (assuming that one of them must have been carrying the chronometer and ship's papers at the time) by a large wave while watching their delirious (or drunken), fully-dressed, captain swimming around the vessel in mid-ocean with his daughter on his back (You can be sure that Mrs. Captain had something to say about that!).
the Mary Celeste came to the aid of a burning cargo ship filled with coal and explosives. The Mary Celeste got a little too close to the burning ship and the crew abandoned ship into a small lifeboat which also picked up the crew of the cargo ship. The lifeboat then capsized and all hands were lost. Unfortunately there isn't any record of a cargo ship being lost during that period and some have reported that the single lifeboat was still onboard the Mary Celeste.
the captain of the Dei Gratia, the ship which found and applied for salvage rights to the Mary Celeste, hatched a plot to takeover the ship by placing three of his cut throats on the Mary Celeste as crewmen. Once at sea, the crewmen overtook the vessel and killed the captain and crew. The Dei Gratia then "discovered" the "abandoned" vessel and claimed salvage rights to the ship and the cargo.

What is the real story of the Mary Celeste? What was the fate of Captain Briggs and his family, and the crew of the Mary Celeste?
