The number 3 ranked team (Sweden) beat the number 1 ranked team (USA), hardly a boilover. I know, I was there. In the Stadium.
USA had 70% of possession and 9 shots on target. Sweden had 20% possession and one shot on Target. 10% of possession was disputed. USA players missed 3 penalties in the shootout, Sweden missed some as well. Sweden's strategy proved the stronger, they let the Americans exhaust their significantly older legs running at a solid defence with the player of the tournament (so far) being Zecira Musovic, the brilliant Swedish goalkeeper. Half of the top eight ranked teams were beaten before the quarter finals.

So you can accept Rightguide's report though he did not even know who the USA was playing, or take notice of someone who was there.

Incidentally, it should be noted on this site that the Swedes have easily the hottest women's team in the tournament, and I haven't got a clue about either their sexuality or wokeness!

The American team fought like tigers for 120 minutes. On the run of play they should have won, but they did not. The Swedes packed their defence and did not make a serious attempt to attack; The USA played to win and the Swedes played to not lose. Once in the penalties decider, the Swedes knew that on form they had a slight advantage; their strategy worked. At the end the US team was exhausted and totally disappointed, but to a woman they collectively and individually congratulated the entire Swedish team. They showed their class, as athletes, Americans and women.

Rightguide's attempt to denigrate a fine team representing the United States, is entirely consistent with his record as a loser, and particularly as supporter and mouthpiece for the greatest American loser of all.
