A Karen decided to show her whole ass in a post about immigration, well it wasnāt about immigration it was about her 2 year old daughters (donāt get me started on two year olds having iPads), missing iPad, and she referenced a hotel housing āillegals.ā I donāt usually bite, but the way she lumped human beings into a single, dehumanising label, really freaking hit a nerve. People are not punchlines or problems to be filed away under one-word slurs. Immigration is complex and for one she kept referencing rapists and drugs. Both white British men and other races all over the freaking continent are capable of those awful crimes! You realise that when youāre capable of looking outside your own overly polished life. Ugh. You get it. Rant over. (For now.)
Then, kayaking: 13 miles last weekend in 30-degree heat. But surprisingly on the water and in the semi shade the heat doesnāt feel like itās too much? Especially when youāre in a little top and no bra, sunglasses on, purposefully going past groups of people slowly so they can take in the site on the boat. Me, joint in hand, dire straights playing from my speaker and my nipple piercings out on full display as I slowly glide down the canalahhh I love being a woman. Iām already looking at upgrading to something sturdier, something that can handle rapids and rougher conditions. Iām craving an adrenaline rushā¦ I might book a white water rafting experience and see how I fareā¦.

It rained on and off, as British summer insists on doing, but it genuinely makes me laugh how committed we are as a nation. The heavens could open, thunder rumbling over the hook a duck, the antiques cars, the Punch and Judge stands, the jam pots, and still, there weād be, stoically devouring scones and sipping tea
In more cultured news, I just finished re-reading The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Iām still not over it. I had read the book at the beginning of the year but I got through it really slowly, most of it didnāt quite sink in the way I knew it would reading it a second time around! What struck me this time is how itās not really just a story about vanity or sin, but about the psychological cost of separating our public selves from the private truths we hope no one sees. Dorian doesnāt just sell his soul for eternal beauty; he sells it for the illusion that actions donāt have consequences, and the portrait becomes a grotesque mirror to all the ways we lie to ourselves. I think thatās so fucking interesting. Iām giving it a 5* rating!
Off to see the new superman movie todayā¦ (only because thereās nothing else good out yet and I REFUSEEE to watch the new Jurassic World Rebirth because a) the rotten tomato rating + reviews is enough for me to turn it down and b) the franchise is done for now, the original movies were amazing. No need to drag out the story with extra eye candy and OTT CGI scenes.)
Regarding Superman though, I prefer anti heros such as Deadpool, Rocket from guardians and the galaxy, Venom, Loki, every single character from Thunderbolts. I donāt know, thereās just something inherently cringe about Supermanās character? Heās too much of a perfect āBoy Scoutā. I feel these days younger and older viewers probably want a less polished super hero, we want authentic, messy and REAL feeling characters, even if they have a suit or powers

Found some old baking pics Iāve not shared here yetā¦. In the top left you can see Latvian āpiragiā which is just a soft pastry filled with smoked bacon pieces and onion, (absolutely phenomenal), top right is a spread I made for a family friends 60th birthday, (I hand decorated all those cupcakes and did the toppings etc) thr cake is a Victorian sponge. And then on the bottom left we have my double chocolate brownies and a carrot & walnut cake!
