To everyone who comes across this thread I wish for you the following things:

That your Solstice is an invigorating or relaxing one.
That your winter holiday is spent exactly how you want it.
That (if you so desire) you are surrounded by family and friends that you enjoy being around.
That you keep in mind that you are cared for and wanted, even if it does not feel like it right now.

I also wish for you a warm cup of coffee/tea/cocoa and a plate of your favorite snacks.

May the Gods (or Spirits/Universe/Gnomes/Whatever) watch over you and grant you a better year next year.

Might be in the wrong spot, but I have no idea.

Had a really nice walk in the woods behind our farm. No one was hunting and it was really nice out. Sunny and maybe 45° (10c). The sun was low… it’s the lowest in its cycle, given this 23.5° tilt of the earth.

An enormous ash tree came down in the windstorm we had on Friday night. It will be enough for 1-1.5 cords of firewood depending on the condition of the wood.

We just enjoyed nature. Walking the trails, feeling the sun on the shortest day of the year

My wife really liked this pic of Stonehenge showing the alignment of the sun with the heel stone - the giant stone in the front.
