Possibly. There are other factors, too. Category is a big one, and having a solid fan base is another. Plus, on the day my story was up I was at the top of both the holiday list and the new stories list, and I think that helped too. I got over 120 of my 150 votes within the first day.

More votes doesn't necessarily mean a better score, tho. And to be honest, this is the most votes I've ever gotten in such a short time. My other contest entries didn't come close.

Lord knows vote # has nothing to do with score though although it is a little insulation aainst when you say something that makes someone mad so they go 1 bomb you

I've nothing with over 200 votes. Nothing. Even stuff that's 2 years old. The better stories (which I've pulled for publication) didn't even have 100 votes.

And this contest? Pfffft. I currently have 26 votes. Barely qualifying ... not that my score puts it in contention, anyway.

Until this thing my highest votes were 121, up for 3 years.
that was my ONLY 3 diget. My first story has 39 votes.

Number of votes? Dunno. Fan base helps, I think, although I always just submit and hope that anyone that likes my work will see it. Saturday morning helps, too, I think, and popping up as the first story in the 'New' list can help. Apart from that, I haven't a clue.

My latest story, The Walk To The Paradise Garden is dedicated to Honey 123. It was written in the white heat of inspiration....in a little over 4 hours. I cannot find too many parallels in lit., you will have to tell me if it reminds you of any other particular story.

Okay you made me look. I have 4 stories over 100, 2 over 200 and one with 308 votes but it was in a popular category.

As far as my holiday story I had my first vote after a 5 day respite and it dropped it 2 points.

Welllllll damn....don't know what to feel now... 9 of my 22 stories have more than 100 votes.... 2 over 150 and NONE over200....

I hate these topics. They always get me checing my scores which has a tendency to kick in the old depression.

I have two incest stories, both part of the same series, that got a lot of votes, at least by my standards. Randi Comes Home pulled in over 400 while part 2 got over 300. An Interracial and a Lesbian story both have over 200 votes.

As for votes in this contest, maybe it's just me, but the fact a story is on the Contest List doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. As in days of yore, the NEW list is the only one that seems to matter. And as SJ pointed out, it's only the first day on the list that sees any real activity.

My six-page Group Sex saga has 90 votes and 19 PC's. It's off the NEW list and has picked up only one new PC since the 28th (bless Colly's heart).

My one-page Humor entry is still on the NEW list, has 28 votes, 1728 views and 11 PC's. Of those PC's eight came on the first day. The other three on day two. It's had no PC's today. IMHO, those figures seem about right for a Humor piece with no sexual content.
