Winter Holiday Support Thread

Guh. I'm still working on mine, though I think I'm gonna be too late. I never can seem to make the deadline for either Holiday or Halloween contests.

Respectable but not awesome 4.79????? Damn I was feelin good about my score.. and ummm.. it's lower than that!!!! Now I gotta go cry!!!!

Hey you all can come over to my party for having anything above a 4.5  and let's just say much of my stuff is NOT above a 4.5 ;)

If I break 4.6 it's a bananas all around day over here. Well cept my one story at a 5, with all of -3- votes  I guess I have a loyal readership of 3, I love them whoever they are, but they number 3.

That's why I inquire about more discriminating contest readership.

Honestly, I think you just attract more trolls when you're in a contest <shrug>

Although, I have to say I'm feeling that way about my 2nd entry, lots of good comments and feedback... one that sent me into near orgasmic squeals <grin>... but while the vote is respectable, I am surprised, too, that it didn't go up in the last sweep... <shrug> Who can tell, sometimes, readers are fickle, eh?

Now if you wanna see frustration... I wrote one loser attempt at humor that really bombed (3.74) but other than that... every one of my stories has rated between 4.42 and 4.78. So far so good... but FOUR of my stories (old ones mind ya) have a score of 4.49!!!!! And they been there for over FOUR MONTHS. Good thing I dont' have any hair.. I'd pull it all out!!!!

Damn.. could I use ONE lousy 5 bomb on each of those...lmao!

I updated my list and will be hitting the stories that I missed while I was gone.... I will also be submitting the other two stories that I did for the contest tonight I think..... whoorah

*hands you a beer and a bottle opener*

I'll pop you onto my reading list, but man I am slow with a capital S-L-O-W to get to anything.

I had a story at 2. something for a few, I was damn proud of it, that I wrote something that pissed people off to that level :)

Now its at like a 4.49 or 4.48 *shrug* I kinda miss all those I hate your story 1's that got swept off of it.

I am surprised because based on the quanity of views, votes and favorable comments readers (and a few of you) really like it.

Damn, I feel like Charlie Brown having another go at kicking that football every time I start caring about this stuff. Because of course the real rewards are nice comments and notes from readers, and the pure joy of creation.

Tell me - is it the case that contest stories attract a more sophisticated and discriminating readership, and the scores reflect their somewhat higher standards?

Um. 4.79 is really really high.

Generally speaking, 4.79 is a high score. For Anal and Incest and Celebrity, it would be one of the highest. However, for Lesbian, especially a story written by a woman, it is good, but nothing spectacular.

It does if I'm writing the story. My goal is to write a Lesbian story that either gets and H or, even better, gets Colly's approval. Bless her heart, she keeps trying to help, but I'm not there yet.

It shouldn't make a difference but I believe it does. There are some trolls, who may or may not be lesbians, who will one-bomb a lesbian or female masturbation story by a man just as a matter of principal.

Alot of people have very set in stone ideas of what a person of one gender can write. Its the reason so many people have used fake names and initials :)

All my feedback on my winter story assumes I'm a guy. there are NO indications in even that ID that its male. Short stroke with a male 1st person Narator and the assumption is made and the reader seems to identify.

I should try writing a lesbian story, bet I'd be slammed :) hmmm maybe a challange, course I 'write like a guy' whatever that means.

Sometimes it does.....
I have had stories go wonky in non-consent because a woman wrote them...

A while ago there was a program in this forum (I think) that would supposedly tell whether a story had been written by a man or a woman. It said, quite emphatically, that most of my stories had been written by a woman. The exceptions were the gay male stories I wrote. I don't know why it was so far off but I rather liked the results, because I like the idea of women enjoying my stories.

Any of the gentlemen who ask me to read their stories before they post always ask if it appeals to the women. And I've had some that write as women and want to know if they pull it off...I wanna write as a man and see if I can do it.

My second entry was rejected because it is poetry.

they don't like to play loose and fast with that rule, I've seen others complain about getting "stuck" in poetry... sorry, Og... it's good, though! :)
