Being a big, burly, he-man type of macho guy, I didn't get misty-eyed (that hasn't happened since Old Yeller died) but I did five-bomb Ted's story. Highly recommended.

Best I can figure things, we've now had the 101st (AIRBORNE!) , uh, ignore that guy. Let me reword that last phrase, we've now had over one hundred stories entered in the contest. With NaNo now over, I'm wondering if activity (reads, votes, submissions) will pick up?

Ted, I'm glad your story is already qualified. Certain individuals with stories in Humor and Satire that contain no sex are finding it a longer slog (would you believe, 8 votes?) to that happy land of the qualified.

Damn it RF.. I'm too buried in work to read anything.. and here ya went and made me feel all guilty. Since it was only one page... I read it... and 5bombed it. Now ya got 9.

With Thanksgiving and other family things, I have a hard time setting up blocks of time to write, and I have had even more trouble attracting the muse when I do have the time. Therefore, I have had to break the story into two parts in order to get it in before the deadline. I just submitted the first part, about 5,360 words, and I will try to submit the second part, about the same size, this coming weekend.

I had to include an introduction in the first part, so it is about 93% smut. When I submit the second part, I won't need the intro, so it will be 100% filth.

Me slightly sad at troll sweep results

Hmmm - there appears to have been a major troll sweep in the Lesbian Sex category. I am happy that one of my stories moved up a bunch, but a bit disappointed and surprised that my Holiday story Shy Virgin’s Fear Becomes Joy is stuck at a respectable but not awesome 4.79. I am surprised because based on the quanity of views, votes and favorable comments readers (and a few of you) really like it.

Damn, I feel like Charlie Brown having another go at kicking that football every time I start caring about this stuff. Because of course the real rewards are nice comments and notes from readers, and the pure joy of creation.

Tell me - is it the case that contest stories attract a more sophisticated and discriminating readership, and the scores reflect their somewhat higher standards?

I know! I know! It's silly to whine, and I am really on cloud nine with the reception this story has enjoyed, and now I feel bad for making dp and sj cry. It's just that the apparent troll sweep impacted my other stories so much more. That's why I inquire about more discriminating contest readership.
