Cept I need to create an alt for it *blush*

How can that be? I loved yours. :)

Thank you so much!!!

My Halloween story had a better score....

less votes and less reads...

I'm curious about how they decide winners. Is it by votes to score or is it just by rating? And I've loved almost every story that I've read from you wonderful people here.

Honey's Stories.......

I liked both your contest stories, but was just wondering....do you think your Holiday contest one was voted down because it wasn't overly related to any particular holiday? That is my overall observation of the contest entries....they are wonderful stories which just happened to occur at Christmas, Thanksgiving, et al, including my own first two contest entries. Which is why I submitted Searching For Christmas.....am tired of hearing about stories not related to the contest theme.

Sack

I keep getting trolled, but I don't really care.
It was fun to write and that's all that mattered. Plus the competition is wonderful, so many great stories have been written.

isn't a troll sweep due?

Can you imagine a Dr. Mabeuse story at 4.00? Ridiculous! Time for Laurel to take away the troll bait so they can reload for the next round! (The only good thing about this is that you really cannot predict who will win the contest until the very last minute!)

Hey, Danielle! :)

I've heard that the rating is the deciding factor.

The competition must really be wonderful..... fully two thirds of the storries are rated at 4.5 or better..... think that's the highest percentage I've seen in the last year. Some good stories in there.. and very little chaff.

I've got over 100 votes...my score is very low...*shaking head....I thought this was a really good story too...The reads are absolutely crazy...over 19,000......and 28 PC's

Define very low.
I have over 100 votes, too. In fact, I had over 100 on the first day which is insane, but my score is pretty much where I expected it to be. Not high enough to be a contender, but comparable to my other stories.

hey ABS....

If your story is at 4.75 now, before the troll sweep, just think what it is going to be AFTER the troll sweep! :D

By the way, highest rating prevails in the contest, but if two or more stories have the same rating, higher votes prevails, thus:

4.88, 100 votes, #1
4.88, 75 votes, #2
4.88, 25 votes, #3

The winner is determined by the score... but if you look at the top list you see that stories with the same score with higher number of votes are rated higher than ones with lower vote totals....

Don't think that applies to contests. Just on score.

Thanks, I've been wondering, I mean...if someone throws a story in at the last minute and it gets 25 votes and stays at a 5 for one day, but someone else has had a story in for three weeks and it has 152 votes and is at a4.88 how is that fair?

Guess it doesn't make sense to me, but I do this cuz I love to write. Good luck you all.

I think that's part of the score thing. But the other part of it is that with so many contest entries, we're all getting lots of votes/reads from other entrants and most people give each other 5's deserved. Personally, I'm not even going to attempt to read all of the stories, tho I'm making every effort to read all the AH entries.

Isn't there like a week between the last day to enter and the last day of voting? That's plenty of time to make it "fair"- if a story stays at a 5 for that long, it probably deserves it.

Well that gets me for having a blonde moment today..lol. You're right, there is a week. But I thought all voting ended on the seventh, I guess that's just last day to enter. Maybe I need to get new glasses... :cattail:

Abs, your story had a great "girl power" vibe to it that hooked me in. Reminded me of "Girl, Interrupted" in a way. ;)

It's time for a banana my friends!

:nana:

I've finished it!

I'm goiving it a read over this evening, then if anyone wants to do a bit of proof reading for me, I'd be very grateful :rose:

Honey and Sophia Jane's stories...

They have a commonality in that the sex is extremely hot (I'm "getting" Sophia Jane's finally...had to get the tired brain in gear!) but the entire story depends on the sex, and is therefore less related to the contest theme. (Rumple's is an extreme, albeit planned, example of this!) They are also both relatively short. If you look at some of the past contest winners, including the leaders in this contest, their stories are relatively long, at least 2 Literotica pages, and in some cases 4-5. For reasons which have never been entirely clear to me, long stories are GENERALLY rated higher than short stories. Abyss, the winner of the Halloween contest, was about 6 Literotica pages, and Penelope Street's offering was 8 I believe. You both might want to experiment and submit a new story twice to four times as long as your first one, and see if there is any difference!

Thank you sweetie. I realized that after I wrote it.
I write from experience and then create the characters setting around it...then add the "ethereal'' element. I did that last year with Restoration...I took a Dicken's twist to it.

I will make sure I read yours and a few others I've missed. I have a limited attention span these days.

Thanks Aurora.....

For your supportive comments on my stories....they are appreciated!

Of course, the posted scores are rounded off. If the one with 100 votes is actually 4.88123 and the one with 75 votes is actually 4.88321, the latter would be the higher of the two.

Where are you finding the scores? Or are you looking up each individual cat?

Yeah, I noticed! :)

Dickens is very popular at Christmas time, I'm starting to realize. ;)
