Winter Holiday Support Thread

Guys, sorry if I sound ignorant but what does PC mean?

Hell if I know exactly... In this case I believe it means P(ublic) C(omment)'d.

A little marker that you have been there...lmao.. keeps ya from gettin confused. Usually it means Private Communiction.. but whatever it stands for .. it means leaving a comment....

Don't quote me though.. I could be wrong.

PC= public comment

its a sorta sneaky way for us to keep track of the stories that we already read.... this would have been really helpful to me in the halloween story contest

some use the letters RVCed

which I believe means "read, voted, commented"

Christ, if I were a smoker I would have gone through a dozen cartons by now because I'm so torn over whether to hurry and finish/submit my story or stick it out and let it unfold at its own pace.

I'm sure that if I pulled a rush job it would show like a run in a black stocking (damn it), but because I know I'm a notorious perfectionist, I don't want to work on the story for so long that it may get overlooked or swallowed up by other submissions that will probably start piling up soon. And let's not forget NaNo! Grr...

I think you should take your time... it's still so early.
I rushed mine and it's going over like a lead balloon.

The extra time will payoff!

Mine is still only an idea BUT I am up to 36k on my NaNo, and aiming to be finished by the weekend -then it'll be Christmas story all the way baby -yeah! :nana:

Aurora -don't rush. there's ages yet. let the story out at its own pace :)

Aurora,

Listen to da Muse and da Lady.

Late entries often do well in the contest. Penelope Street finished third in the Halloween contest with a huge story she submitted just before the deadline. However, truth in posting regs require me to point out that had she submitted it a day earlier, she'd have overtaken me and finished no worse than second. "whew"

DP and Vella,

That lump of illiteracy passing itself off as my future contest entry has been e-mailed to you as an attachment. No rush, and many thanks.

Got lots of time yet... take it easy... Eearly is not necessarily the best! Why feed the trolls? (spoken by one who is doing so).

Votes & comments & trolls & NaNo aside, I've noticed the VIEWS seem really low...
I'm thinking maybe people just aren't in the holiday spirit quite yet?

Agreed
however... I PMed Laurel.... the main page of LIT... where people can click on the links to see the new stories in the contest goes to the forum discussion and the one that you would click on to read the rules goes to the stories..... soooo that might be part of it

Have noticed some strange things myself.... over the last two days.. I've picked up a total of 3 votes. Not sure about the views.

Just seems to be low low interest....

I just killed off all the characters.... should I save the sequel for halloween and bring them back as ghosts? LMAO... Just jerkin yer chain darlin.

I just got a great idea for another holiday story... can we enter more than two?? When is the deadline again???

I believe you can enter as many as you want. Frequently people do enter more than once in a contest.

For the Halloween Contest, I entered five chapters of a story.
