Winter Holiday Support Thread

My poor "Shy Virgin" - so tender, so sweet, innocently reveling in her first-time love with an older woman, and then SQAUSH like a bug under a jackboot, her ratings get trampled down. She recovers, starts working back up the score, then SQUASH again . . .

Holy cow, I just noticed - the vote total dropped from 201 to 156! Oh, my poor Virgin - could it have been not necessarily the trolls who did her in, but a more insidious threat - discerning readers weilding "4s" and "3s"?

Holy, holy cow - the poor dear has gone from 201 votes and a respectable but not terrific score 24 hours ago to 112 votes and score much lower than any of my other stories, even though this is the best, is just as hot, and (at 3 pages) is the shortest.

I don't get it - I don't see any dramatic changes to other contest stories in the category. The previous vote total did not seem hugely out of line given certain selling features of the piece, and the new score seems unrealistically low for the same reason. I am not whining or accusing, I am just confused. Even if I had a misguided "fan" out there somewhere who hit the "5" button 75 times and all those "votes" were properly swept away, the current score still seems too low, based on mine and others' story scores in the category.

Sorry to hear that Roxanne... it's gotta sting!

Though I must admit you've depressed me some <lol>... are votes up in the hundreds common?? My entry's been up for the duration of the contest (a full month) – my total votes have never exceeded 49 and my views never broke 5,000

I would think anything in the 3 digits (vote-wise) must be doing really really well, though I guess there's a chance my story is just flyin' under the radar ... maybe it's the exception!

There at least two of us Muse. My first story has been up since the 11th. It is still under 5K views and 50 votes as well.
My second story has many more but is a different catagory. Strangest thing is that in the last 5-6 votes( yes they are coming slow enough to notice each vote) I have had no change in 'score'. Since we cannot vote in fractions and it has no where near sufficient votes for an individual vote to make no difference in a 2 digit placement, I cannot explain it. Not bad just is curious.

Mine hasn't gone much of anywhere lately. It is in the Group category and was posted Dec. 2. So far it has 16,816 views, which is not bad, and 62 votes for a score of 4.35, with 15 PC. I know from watching the score change that it has been hit with at least four one-bombs but I don't believe any have ever been swept from it.

Muse, the lesbian category must be a friendlier place than romance, or maybe romance is just not as friendly to a lez story, because your oral-sex-on-the-couch scene in "Seventh Snowfall" is a masterpiece, and the lezlovers would eat it up, so to speak. I think if that story were in the lez category with just a little more emphasis on the fact that both characters were woman (I wasn't sure at first, which wasn't so important in the romance category but would be in the lez), it would have climbed to the top of the top list so fast and generated so many votes it would make your head spin.

I figured I'd post my picks for Contest winners

1st ANNUAL
SCOURIES 2005 HOLIDAY AWARD WINNERS
LITEROTICA’S BEST WRITERS SALUTED BY SCOTTISH LAIRD

The following authors and stories have been selected by an international panel of renowned authors (all Nobel laureates), overseen by an U.N. election monitoring team and the renowned International accounting firm of Scouries, Scouries and Scouries, as the best stories in the Literotica Holiday Contest.

The winners were chosen based solely on good looks and intelligence.

1 – DanielleKitten for Christmas Blessings. Yes I know, there wasn’t any sex in it so it should have been immediately disqualified. However, for three reasons it’s the winner. One, it’s a great story perfectly told. Two, Miss K, with her talent and drive, won’t be with us long I fear, so before she finds fame and fortune elsewhere I thought she should have at least one Literotica prize. Finally, just the thought of her excites me, so even when reading a non-erotic story of hers, I find myself with a hard-on. Bravo Miss K.
Prize is a weekend in Miami Beach with scouries.

2 - drksideofthemoon for Montana Summer (all chapters). I know, it’s not officially entered in the contest. However, somehow, this story, whose chapters come out month after month, always drawing the most views, the most votes and rave reviews, has never won a monthly prize. What’s this guy done anyway? LITEROTICA ‘NOVEL OF THE YEAR’

3 – Just Plain Bob for Merry Christmas Bobby. Actually this prize is for a string of stories this author has delivered over the year, Loving Wife category stories that get hammered but are always great.

4 – scouries for Gayle’s Dad. No author would omit to put one of his own stories on a winners list, so here is mine. Again, not actually entered in the main competition, but it does have a Xmas setting and would have been entered in the competition if I had known about the competition when I wrote it. ‘LITEROTICA STORY OF THE YEAR’

5 – SelenaKittyn for Advent Calendar. I’m not sure if it’s proper to award prizes to twin sisters but since Selena has put a y in her last name while sister Danielle spells hers with an e, I feel totally justified in my choice. All her stories were excellent. Let’s hope she’s not discouraged from entering again.
Prize is a week in Hawaii with scouries and her sister DK. The last person left standing gets to write the story.

6 – Sexxy Vixen for Strap-On Santa. I happened on this story by accident, clicking it when I thought I was clicking another. What the fuck is this I thought as I read, going from laughter to incredulity to arousal to total disbelief. You’re not using that strap-on on me Miss V, you seemed to enjoy it too much.

7 – sarahhh for just being sarahhh. You can only read one of her stories every two months or so. Her great skill, which dwarfs just about everyone else’s, would just make you totally depressed if you read her more often. Now if only she’d fall in love with her audience and write a story for her readers instead of trying to impress us. You already have! You’re so good lady!

Special Awards

Best Little Picture Award to Aurora Black – for best little picture next to her posts. I did read her entry Absence and it is excellent. Miss Black is actually why I’m still on this thread. I never would have discovered all the nefarious plots going on if I hadn’t been captivated by her little picture and continued to read.

First Ever Silver W Award to Scouries – yeah, yeah, I know, but it’s my awards list. The first official Silver W awarded in Literoticas history (for most votes) for the story Swimming With the Dolphins. Actually some other story may have received more votes but until I see the figures the big silver W stays with me.

First Ever Gold W Award to ?????????? – Having no list of views on the stories entered I’ll have to wait until contestants advise me of how many views their stories got. Anecdotal evidence seems to point to a viewing number of greater than 43,000 if you hope to win. Please advise if you think you’ve got a chance.

Jupiter-Mars Award to Sack – My reasoning is simple. One, this guy is actually very nice. Two, somehow he’s written hundreds of stories, posted thousands of opinions, and also been able to read, review, critique and catalog every story Literotica has published on his way to writing the definitive Top 100 list. He’s retired, I figured, he’s got lots of time, but then he says in his biography he has two jobs. The only possible explanation for all this output is that he’s an alien, so I feel we should reclassify all his stories to the Non-human category and give him an honorary Intergalactic award.

Most Nefarious – No I can’t, I’ve promised to turn a new leaf……………shit.

Honorable Mention – wantwhitewomen – This guys too good to be true! Now who the hells writing his stories?

I don't understand you. First you complain that holiday story authors shouldn't vote in the contest, then you write a whole post of who you think should win following rules you made up. (Not to mention you had the balls to accuse people here of cheating.)

And you really think people are going to take you seriously?

Two things.

My Halloween entry had barely 6,000 views and less than fifty votes at the end of the contest. Now it's got nearly 25,000 views and 129 votes. Go figure.

And scouries? Masturbating in public is kinda declassé.

If thats all the higher to be in the running that that is set for my Alt would have a chance at that sucker ;)

Okay.

Rhys went from a 4.81 with 45 votes to a 4.85 with 26 votes. That's almost half his votes. WTF?!?!?

Has this happened to anyone else?

With the exception of Box's RCV on "Exchanging Presents" (many thanks), the numbers on my three entries have been like (fill in your favorite smilie), rock hard and steady.

Rumple Foreskin

ps: Box, you could be right about category choice. rf

I still haven't lost a single vote on my story. So strange.
So you have also been rock hard and steady, in the figurative sense, of course. (Does that count as my flirt of the day?)

Wow. That's surprising Rob, but good to know! I was starting to feel like at least 75% of writers were all seeing triple digit vote counts and hundreds of thousands of views on a regular basis...

So, thanks for averting the little complex I was developin'

It won't be LONG now! Just wanted to take a second to say...
VERY BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!! MAY THE BEST SMUT-WIELDER WIN!!

:nana:

*ahem* Any ideas of what's with losing half his votes?
No good ones. Judging from what Roxanne and others have reported, I'd say he's not alone. It seems like Lit is doing a story-by-story sweep this time, assuming that's possible.

i know it sounds oxymoronish... but the trolls that vote like 3's on purpose... totally not something that gets erased.
