Winter Holidays
themes: winter holiday traditions (dreidels, gift giving, etc.), cold weather (snow), holiday mythology (Santa, elves), etc.
starts: November 10
closes: December 7
winners announced: December 14

Don't groan. The Halloween contest results have just been announced.

Congratulations to the winners who have shown themselves very worthy representatives of the AH.

Congratulations to all those who entered that contest. The number and quality of the entries enhanced the achievement of the winners.

BUT NOW...

The Winter Holiday Contest will be upon us soon and will conflict, for some of us, with NaNoWriMo.

If you want to emulate the winners of Halloween - Write! Now! You have a whole two days before NaNoWriMo...

Og... I love you but could beat the peas out of you right now... I cannot believe you already posted this bloody thing....

ARRRRGH

Since I can't NaNo this year, I'm in for this contest. Just need to come up with an idea.
And then write it.

Not so hard, really. I hope.

I don't know if I can top last years story....I need some added angst...lol.

theres a week after NaNo finishes too ;) I'll work on my Christmas story throught November, even though I'll be NaNoing -sometimes you just need to work on something else to get over a block :)

though....Christmas? it's not even Halloween yet *L*

Think i'll give it a shot. Go a complete opposite direction from my norm on this one.

Be afraid.

Of course I will prepare an entry. Many others only think of themselves. However, I have a whole entourage of trolls to support.

Sorry Elizabeth. You couldn't catch me at the moment. When your leg is healed? Maybe I wouldn't run too hard.

I posted it because there is so little time available for those of us who are mad enough to attempt NaNoWriMo as well. If I didn't post it, someone else would have to in the next day or so.

Best of luck to everyone who wants to try.

LOL. Give the man a big cigar.

Just a wrap-up note about the last contest. Sack did some checking and posted the high scores on the Hallowee Support and Congratulations threads. There may be one or two he's missed, such as SelenaKittyn's, Lost Souls, which finished with a 4.78 score. But it looks like AT LEAST 25 of the top 29 scores were by AH writers.

Yeah, us. :nana:

I expect I will enter also but it will be my normal smut. Maybe something even raunchier than usual.

Right. Having seen the stats sack posted for the Halloween contest, there is no way I am getting in the ring with any of ya'll.

I'll be hiding under my bed until January, tyvm. ;)
Ah, come on out, lilred. It'll be fun. And we'll still respect you in the morning. Well, at least to the extent we ever respected you. :)

Besides, I was kinda hoping you'd present us with a humor story for Christmas.

By the way, congrats Rumple and Penelope and rgraham :)

I don't see the point in entering this contest, cuz I can clearly see that whatever shit I manage to come up with between NaNo and my lovely writing class that I just signed up for, will be complete...well shit.

But I might try anyhow :D

Lil red -come on love, it's not the winning it's the taking part -and i completely mean that!

more views, more votes and the support of the AH authors in this thread -it is all worth entering even if your score isn't as majestic as the might rumply's, RG's and Ms Street!

Aliyah -thats the spirit, give it a go love!

I'm in, I don't know how I'll do compared to last years story which actually got a category nomination! *falls down thud* but be assured it will be sweet, sickly and full of romantic love and sex and christmas joy.

Christmas is my kinda holiday...halloween just spooks me out *l*

Morning EL

Not sure I'll have time to do Christmas, I've an idea but I really want to concentrate on NaNo. We will see :D

Morning Neon, love - I hope you do :) I love your writing!

I wonder how many stories will be out there for Christmas:eek: Sorry, winter holidays -folks, it doesn't have to be Christmas.

I don't know mine yet, no idea at all. Last years i dea hit me whilst walking to the chip shop one evening :D

I'm thinking about it... I have had a Christmas Story floating about for a while.

Just not sure if this is the right forum for it.

It's about young Saint Dick, as the single ladies alone on Christmas Eve call him ;)

Sincerely,
ElSol

Hello Elsol -go for it love! Sounds like here is a good place for that kind of story ;)

EL, I'm about to leave it with you.

I was just re-reading MrsGiggles' mention of your story; probably the most positive thing in her entire review of Coming Together. I reminded me how very lucky I was to NOT have a story in that first volumn. :)

Catch you on the flip side.

I just don't know how long it would end up being... I like long stories ;)

This one would have some length especially if I go for the 'normal' angle... the young heir to the Kringle Toy Empire finds out about the REAL family business and how New Santas are broken in.

Bringing Christmas Cheer to all those lonely ladies out there!

If I can find a way to keep it in the 'under a week to fully write' mark, I'll do it.

Sincerely,
ElSol
