Winter Holiday Support Thread

Vella,

I worry a bit about BT and Og. Don't you?

I considered signing up, for about three minutes, but Ill stick to kibitzing. I've always had three problems with the NaNo. I'm a slow writer, and have an aversion to self-inflicted pain.

My primary heartburn is the NaNo being in November. Thanksgiving is usually more than a one-day affair for me. This year, number one son, his main squeez and her mother will be here for a few days. If it were in February or March, then maybe.

yes, i do worry...but i do this well and im inclined to continue as if i stopped, i might not recognise me. i totally agree with you about thanksgiving...its always been many more than one day for us as well.

my biggest problem is that i dont have enough to say or the thought process to stay on topic for a paragraph much less 50g words! ill just support everyone like a brand new 18 hour bra.

oh...absy...nice to see you, pustule!

Pffffft.

If I finish my Holiday project today or tomorrow, I'll have plenty of time to Nano. :)

Yes, but you'll finish NaNo in a week or so, and then have time to write at least another half dozen entries for the winter contest.

*sigh*.

Winter Holidays
themes: winter holiday traditions (dreidels, gift giving, etc.), cold weather (snow), holiday mythology (Santa, elves), etc.
starts: November 10
closes: December 7
winners announced: December 14

Don't groan. The Halloween contest results have just been announced.

Congratulations to the winners who have shown themselves very worthy representatives of the AH.

Congratulations to all those who entered that contest. The number and quality of the entries enhanced the achievement of the winners.

BUT NOW...

The Winter Holiday Contest will be upon us soon and will conflict, for some of us, with NaNoWriMo.

If you want to emulate the winners of Halloween - Write! Now! You have a whole two days before NaNoWriMo...

Og

Been thinking of this Og, hm. If my last years orgy fun wasnt good enough, though literally FUCKING hot, is winter holiday a time for soft slow love rather than hot hard, fucking, if one hopes to win?

Now is probably a good time.....

To plug my story "How to Write a Holiday Contest Story Entry". It was written with the Christmas contest in mind, and ironically, I placed in the Christmas competition AFTER writing it!! Everything I submit is governed by the "rules" set forth in that essay. Please read it and let me know if these easy to implement ideas work for you.

Thanks, Sack

suddenly calls out...."more pillows we need more pillows for everyone to come and snuggle"
Oh cabana boy!

*clap clap*

The woman has asked for more pillows!

Well, I'm Christmas idea-less so far, I'll be entering something by gum, but i don't know what as yet. If I give NaNo a real push like I did last year,(I finished a few days early last year) I should be able to write out a christmas story in that time....now i just need the damn idea...

father christmas caught in the middle of a sleet storm caused by global warming...???
the possibilities are endless.

Is it

allowable to show my naive and slightly virginal existence in the Literotica world and ask, what the hell is a Nano...I always thought it's what Mork from Ork says... :)

Got my rough draft done :)

...and you'll have your NaNo done by Friday. ;)

If I can come up with an idea, I'll write something for the contest, but I'm such a bah-humbug person that it's hard to get in the mood to write for this one.

It might make for a good block-breaker for NaNo, though.

I have no earthly idea what to write.

Then........how about something, non-earthly ???

I can't give advice on how to WIN. My only win (4th place) was for an ESSAY.

I can give advice on how to LOSE. I don't think that doing the opposite would necessarily help you to win.
