Question for you all? Is there any way of handling what seems to be personal attacks in comments to your stories and such? I mean, I can handle critics. I can handle someone that doesn't like it. Fine, tell me what you think, but when it's starting to lean or outright says that I'm a moron and such, that's out of line. They have no right to judge me by the stories I write. Yes, they are a personal extention of who I am, but it's also a story. I never said it was true what had happened. I also have full support of my husband, so if anyone had a problem with it, it should have been him.

I have left these comments on my story, because I feel that they do have a right to their own opinions. I just feel that they are personally attacking me because of the contest. Is there anyone else experiencing these problems? Or am I really just that bad of a writer and out of touch with reality? Thanks ahead of time for all feedback on this.

I also was surprised at the feedback I got -- first off, I was surprised at the sheer number of people who bothered to send me their comments, which is so great! I was also surprised at the number of people who took the time to send me negative comments. Usually when I read something I don't like on Literotica.com, or when I encounter any book or story I don't like, I just skip over it--- I feel like people on this website get ANGRY when they read a story and don't like it... but they don't have to finish it! I find it pretty funny, and I think that is the best attitude you can adopt. There are a lot of people out there who don't have the guts to write anything themselves, so they spend all their time criticizing other people meanly. Constructive criticism is great, but it's the mean people who are mean for no apparent reason, like you were describing, that I don't understand. I feel like honestly, it is their problem, and not your problem. Not only is fiction subjective, but sex is the MOST subjective topic ever, and something that really turns me on might REALLY turn you off. So.... I would say don't worry about it, and if you want to get un-cruel and helpful feedback about your writing skills, you should contact one of the volunteer literotica editors. That's my 2 cents...

Heavenly, alot of it has to do with the cateogry you chose. Loving Wives is notorious for that kind of feedback. There are warring groups there whose idea of a loving wife is not the same as the other's. While you might get one on occasion in other categories, those kind of comments in Loving Wives is unfortunately par for the course.
