"Yeah some of his cooking is extremly delicious. You just can't ask whats in it." Joking along with her. THey walked the distance to the house hand in hand. Now that they had started showing each other affection, it was going to be difficult to hold back in the house. He'd find ways to enjoy it.

He felt her fingers release his. His grip slowly released her own, as they approached the house. THey stopped just outside the door and quickly Lilith leaned up and kissed his lips. Smiling at her he followed her into the house. "Gabriel, what did you make? You can smell it all the way over by the lake. NO, actually don't tell me...I don't want to know."

Michael's eyes lingered on Lilith as she made her way up the stairs. Smiling he entered the kitchen and sat at the table. Gabriel sat at the table, and Amy was huddling in the corner. A quizical look on his face he slowly approached her and rested his hand on her shoulder lightly. "Amy? you okay?" Turning toward Gabriel and Zack while crouched near Amy. "What happened?"

Dr. Jake

Name: Dr. Jake

OCC: I'm new here, so if I've gone and messed it up, please let me know!

He sits looking at the map, muttering to himself, his white doctor's coat hanging loosely across the chair behind him. "They must be here" he whispers, his dark grey eyes closing half-way, as though squinting will help him find them on the map, maybe with a big red arrow and the words "HERE THEY ARE" suddenly appearing. "They must be here" he whispers again, alone, in the darkness of his office.

Then something even quieter now, just to himself, maybe not even saying it aloud, just mouthing it with his lips.

"And I will find them."

OOc: Welcome everyone! Thank you for joining.

Lilith hummed to herself as she peeled off the wet clothing. Dressing, she dried herself with a towel she had laying about in her room before letting herself plop down on her bed. Her heart beat fast as she smiled. She had never had something to be so excited about. She sighed touching her lips lightly reliving the moment they had shared.

But at that moment a sickening chill slid through her. She sat up and pulled on her oversized hoody, a intricate celtic knot on it. It didn't help, it was the feeling she got when...no. There was no way he could be alive. She ran a hand through her hair as she inspected herself in the mirror. Her wings were covered by the sweater, she almost looked normal. She let her gothic colored strands fall in her face as she made her way slwoly down the stairs, still trying to shake the feeling from her.

"Amy? you okay?" Turning toward Gabriel and Zack while crouched near Amy. "What happened?"

Amy pointed out at the table and made whimpering noises. Her eyes wide open and terror reflected from them.

A burst of color throbbed from the stone in her forehead as an image of a movie camera flashed in Micheal's head. Amy grabbed herself and began to rock and sob softly.

She looked pitiful huddled there but her lack of communication made it even harder to comfort her or know if the comforrt was helping or not. The only fact that remained was the little purse and the money sticking out of it. Who gave it to her? Did she have this all the time?

Amy looked up and held out her arms when she saw Lilith. She moved her lips and that was Michael's clue that she once spoke as it was clear she was trying to say Mamma

Lilith looked up as she made her way down the stairs, seeing the whole scene. She looked around for an explaination and knelt down, taking the girl into her arms. "It's ok amy," she whispered smoothing her hair as she moved to hold her tighter.

"Whats wrong? she whispered not letting her go as she ignored all of the others for a moment, including Micheal, "Did something happen?" she asked still holding her close.

I have no idea, I came down her for a bite to eat and all of a sudden, there she was on the floor. There was something glowing on her head however. I'm sure I'm not the only person who saw it. He looked towards the others and they gave there heads a nodd. He looked back down at Amy. Truthfully, it was great to be an angel and have wings. But there were all some kinds of catches. For himself, it was realistic dreams and pains. Not fun.

"It's ok amy," she whispered smoothing her hair as she moved to hold her tighter.

Amy rushed into Lilith's arms and sobbed. Holding tightly to Lilith's neck and making softer whimpering noises.

"Whats wrong? she whispered "Did something happen?"

"I have no idea, I came down her for a bite to eat and all of a sudden, there she was on the floor. There was something glowing on her head however. I'm sure I'm not the only person who saw it. " Zachary's voice was talking

Amy looked to Lilith and then pointed back to Gabriel with a mew-like whimper.

Lilith smiled and looked down at her. "Want to come up to my room? It's safe and you can lay down, I'll stay up there with you if you want..." she whispered still stroking her hair softly, she looked up at Micheal and helped amy up.

OCC: Sorry I wasn't around to post earlier. Busy day.

IC: Gabriel was striken. He loved little sis and wouldn't upset her for the world. While other had ran over to comfort her, he had stood confused, unable to move. Now she was pointing at him accusingly. Shit. "Oh God, I am so sorry. She got the purse out and seemed so excited by it. She wanted me to look at it. There was the money. I just said we could see a movie.... Shit." He reached toward Amy, only to have her shrink back further. Gabriel turned and strode from the kitchen. He jogged up the stairs to his room, closed the door softly and locked it and then sat on his bed and kept saying "Shit, shit, shit."

Amy looked to Lilith and made a frown slightly disgusted that she didn't understand. She looked to Gabriel and saw the hurt in his eyes and Amy was shedding large tears. Tinged tears that left red trails from her eyes down the cheek.

Amy wrestled out of Lilith's hold and rushed to Gabriel's door. That was when she started to beat on it with a fury. Screaming out in a childish wail that the door was between them.

Finally when she realized that the door was not going to budge she sat on the floor next to it and began to kick at the bottom trying to get Gabriel's attention.

Yet the purse and the money was still sitting in plain sight on the table. How was anyone going to learn how she had it when Amy doesn't talk.

Lilith didn't understand what amy wanted her to do. It happened like that sometimes, amy didn't talk and Lilith could only help so much until she was no longer of any use. She saw her go up after Gabriel and shook her head. Looking at Micheal she sighed and saw the purse, "Where could she have gotten this kind of cash?" she asked picking it up. "And we're not going to waste it on movies, it will go towards our food, I won't have to steal as much." she sighed and moved into the kitchen, taking a bottle of water out of the fridge and moving out of the kitchen.

"I'm kinda tired, I'll see you all later, try and not get into any trouble alright?" she asked as she moved past Micheal, her hand brushing his lightly and secretly as she walked back up the stairs. Her room was the last, it was an attic she had transformed into her own. She left the door unlocked, hoping Micheal might be able to sneak away. She passed Amy, but knew Gabriel would open his door and let her in, and Lilith hadn't apparently been able to understand her, so it made no difference.

With a sigh she drank from her bottle and set it aside, staring at her ceiling.

Gabriel started to scream to go away, then realized who it must be. Only Amy would start hitting his door, scream without saying much and then start kicking. He sighed. His stomach felt like shit. Damnit. She was probably going to hit him or something, but he couldn't let her just sit there kicking. She might hurt herself of something.

Gabriel unlocked the door and pulled it open a bit. Amy was on the floor and was aiming another kick. He pulled back quickly, sure it was meant for him. "Oh God Amykin." He used his pet name for her. It felt weird calling her that a first, but having her around really was like having a little sis. "Whatever I did I am so sorry. Just don't kick me." He moved back to his bed and sat with his feet tucked under him and his hands over his lap. When Amy really got angry, or frustrated, she sometimes was a little indicriminate where she punched people."

"Oh God Amykin." Gabriel used his pet name for her. It felt weird calling her that a first, but having her around really was like having a little sis. "Whatever I did I am so sorry. Just don't kick me."

Amy rushed into the room and climbed into his lap and whimpered. She was acting very unusual. Amy hugged him rather then hit him another unusual trait.

Amy stared into his eyes as more tears trickled down her cheeks. She gently touched his cheek then looked at her hands. How tiny they looked on his face made her aware of how little she was.

She opened her hand and placed a franklin face in his hand. She looked back to him hoping that he understood that she wanted him to be happy. Amy felt bad for bringing Gabriel pain when he does so much to help her forget hers.

Amy then kissed his lips leaving him totally stunned as she hopped off the bed and walked out of his room. Amy should have went to her room but she didn't she went to the den and pulled out the strange chalks and started to draw.

Before long Amy drifted to sleep holding the picture in her left hand. Ironically enough she drew each person perfectly without their wings. Like a family portrait only she was still missing.. was that her way to question her sense of belonging

Dr. Jake felt pain in his right shoulder, at the spot that always hurt when he worked for too long, bending over tables, searching maps. It hurt from when that little wench Lilith had set The School on fire, doing her best to do him in. He had passed out from the smoke and ended up under a metal table, somehow escaping death. He had awoken cold, burned, almost unable to move. But he had seen her there, looking over the blackened body of his assistant Mystropf; she had even kicked his dead body. If only she had known before she left that he was there, alive, just a few feet away, watching.

He wasn't sure how everything had happened, how those in the upper chamber had escaped, how they had managed to orchestrate the fire, or where they had gone. But of one thing he was pretty sure - they didn't know he was still alive. And another thing he knew for sure - they didn't know of the numerous underground chambers holding their brothers and sisters, many of whom but not all had died in the inferno. He also knew he would find them. That he definitely knew.

And in the meantime, he still had test subjects. Most of those in the lower chambers had only known life with him; they knew nothing else. Some of those in the upper chambers had known more, and that had been bad. They had resisted, they had had to be persuaded. Especially the important ones, ones like Michael. Michael had needed lots of "encouragement." He smiled, but it was not a pleasant smile; there was something wrong about it, something wrong about him. He started to mutter to himself, as he often seemed to do these days.

Something was going wrong with the genetic enhancements, and none of the enhanced "beings" seems to be able to procreate. They have a sexual desire, that was sure. But it was to no avail.

I need to know if the genetic enhancements can be passed on to offspring.
That was the question of the day. And he had been so close to finding an answer, at least he thought he was close. Some changes to Gabriel's and Lilith's DNA that he had made just before they escaped should be taking hold about now, he thought. If they have worked, Lilith and Gabriel should be compatible. They should be, that is. They might also produce some monstrousity. Doc shrugged his shoulders.
It's all trial and error, isn't it?
Doc looked at the file on his desk. "Loki" was the name on the front. At the current moment, Loki was a problem. The only one of those who remained who knew something other than Doc and his world. The one who was trying to undermine him. When Doc told the remaining, those in the lower chambers, that the fire had been started by those in the upper chamber to kill them, to make sure they were destroyed, Loki told them it was a lie. Without Loki, there would only be his word.

Doc turned as Mrs. Baalern entered the room. She had been the cleaning woman for years, and she had her uses. Even though she had once released a child . . . Amy, wasn't it? . . . he had kept her on. He would use her humanitarian streak against her this time. He stamped the word "Terminate" on the outside of Loki's file. He was sure that Baalern would try to set him free. And once she did, once he was out of the lower chamber of The School . . .
Well, we'll just see then, won't we. We'll just see . . .

Gabriel was stunned when Amy climbed into his lap and touched his face instead of kicking him in the shin, or other areas. He hugged her back in confusion and then relief. He was more than stunned when she kissed him on the lips. He was so stunned that he didn'ttry to get up and follow her. His lips felt hot where her's had touched his. What the Hell? He lay back on his bed, still thinking about the kiss, wodering what had prompted that. Had he given her the wrong signals somehow? Still, she wasn't really a child. O.K., she wasn't, but she was still his little sister, sort of. That didn't stop him from seeing the kiss in his mind again and again. Gabriel sighed and sat up, then tuned his guitar. Soon he was picking through the oning bars of Black Bird and singing in a low hum.

The music seemed to relax her small body as she drifted into a deeper sleep. However her wings stirred keeping the air flowing in the room and making the temperature drop by twenty degrees.

"Good Morning Amy. Today we are going to work on the power." Dr James voice was prideful as he spoke.

"No" Amy remained beligerant

"Don't you want to see what you can make, Amy? You are so special. Only you can create things to perfect detail. Come show me how talented my girl is."

He wormed into her need to be loved and she went to him. Touching the block of clear stone and making it alter and grow, transforming to a beautiful sculpture of himself. Touching his vanity but still he wanted more. He pulled the money from his wallet and showed it to her.

Amy touched it and in turn made another one however it followed series number one after his. What the doctor didn't know was by her making the second one appear, it disappeared from his wallet.

When Amy was taken from the Dr.'s clutches she still had the second hundred. She wished she had ten more and the little purse held the ten. She gave them away slowly to people that seemed to be longing for something.

Now she gave away the first one to Gabriel, so he could go see the movie. Something bad would happen, she felt it hurt her. She wanted to understand her images that would reveal themselves in bursts of flashing gold light.

Michael was crouched near Amy waiting for a response from someone when a very vivid mental picture filled his minds eye. It was an image an arm outstretched and held down by brown leather straps around the wrist. A hand came into view and a vial of green liquid was administered to the person on the table. It wasn't his. It wasn't even his memory. Who's was it? Turning towards Amy quickly he watched as the stone imbedded in her forehead began to fade.

It was hers. That was her memory. Michael whatched as Amy closely. This experience was a first for him. He knew they all had abilities to do things uncommon to man. And he knew of Amy's power, but he had never experienced it for himself. Squatting there next to her, he watched as her arms outstretched quickly and her lips begin to move. Mamma. Was all he could make out. Turning to look behind him he saw Lilith.

Lilith had changed from her wet clothes she wore just moments before. She was now wearing her favorite hoody. Oversized due to the fact that it would allow her to hide her wings easily, without question. The celtic knot on the front, was more then a decoration. It was our lives. So much intertwined within one another, that if you pulled on one, the entire knot would tighten in on itself.

Michael smiled at Lilith. She had completely missed his smile and knelt down next to Amy, wrapping her arms around her. Zack was the first to speak. Michael nodded, he had seen her forehead glow. He had actually seen more then that. And he made a mental note to ask Amy about it later.

"Oh God, I am so sorry. She got the purse out and seemed so excited by it. She wanted me to look at it. There was the money. I just said we could see a movie.... Shit." Gabriel said.

The next few events confused Michael. Amy was obviously crying, but she had rushed after Gabriel upstairs and was beating on his door. She was beating in a fury. Hard. You could hear it downstairs. Amy's purse was still on the table with her money sitting in plain sight.

Standing up Michael was getting tired himself. The sun seemed to zap his energy. Which is probably why he liked the night life. Easier to hide, and he always had much more energy. "I'm kinda tired, I'll see you all later, try and not get into any trouble alright?" Lilith spoke before walking past him. Her hand brushed lightly as she walked upstairs to her room. The memory of holding her hand filled his senses as she touched him.

"Well i'm going to head upstairs as well. Its been an intresting night. And a crazy morning."Michael passed by Gabriels room at the top of the stairs. With a quick glance he saw Amy sitting in his lap. 'Well thats new' shrugging he continued on down the hall and was about to open his door to his room when he tought twice about it. He looked down the hall once more and made sure no one was about. Slowly he tried the knob to Liliths room. It was unlocked.

Michael entered the room, turned and closed the door behind him quietly. Lilith lay on her bed staring at her ceiling. She turned toward him and smiled. Michael continued the few paces to her bed. He still wore his wet boxers. His pants were slowly soaking in the water from them. But that was all he wore. Its pretty much all he wore at home.

Sitting at the edge of the bed Michael didn't say a word. Instead he looked into Lilith's eyes and smiled. Reaching out he lightly touched her cheek. "It's cold" Michael shivered slightly.

Lilith was lost in her own thoughts, she could hear Gabriel plucking at his guitar. She mentally made a note to ask him to teach her eventually. She smiled as she heard the door knob turn. She knew who it was before he even walked in. With a smiled she watched him move over to the bed, sitting on the edge.

"I think it might have something to do with the wet clothes you're wearing." she said softly, leaning up to kiss him gently on the lips. She pulled away gently and getting up pulled off her hoody. Peeling back the covers on the bed she laid back down. "Come on, I can keep you warm," she said sweetly patting the space next to her for him to join her. She loved this, this change in the both of them, now that it had happened she couldn't believe it hadn't happened before, or been this way the entire time.

She held her arms out to him, wanting to feel the warmth of his body against hers, wanting to snuggle close to him under the covers.

"I think it might have something to do with the wet clothes you're wearing."

Michael knew she was right. It was the fact that his clothers were wet. That the air in the house chilled his flesh. Lilith leaned up and kissed him gently on the lips, his hand moved to her neck, lightly cradding her flesh before the kiss was broken. Standing he watched as she stood, removing her hoody. He was amazed not her body. Always had been really. the colors of her wings were perfect for her demeanour.

Michael removed his pants and stood there, once again in her presence in his boxers. He hesitated in taking them off, he knew it would help him warm up. And the wet material would soak into the bed. Lilith pulled back the blankets and pat the space next to her in her bed. "Come on, I can keep you warm."

Michael's thumbs hooked into his boxers and slowly he peeled them off his body. Stepping out of his boxers he stood in the morning light completely naked. He was self conscious, his wings moved adjusting. Quickly he moved to lay next to Lilith in bed, shivering from the cold, but the warmth of the bed felt good against his senses.

"Its freezing, I shoulda, changed when I got in."

Lilith would have suggested that he change, or better yet...do what he did. She smiled catching a glimpse of his nakedness before averting her eyes. She didn't want to make him feel too uncomfortable. As he slid in beside her, she pulled the comforter up around them both, scooting closer to him.

Her arms slid around his neck as they laid facing one another, her lips found his again in another one of those lingering kisses they had shared by the lake.

Wanting to try something a little odd... :)

OC: I saw a type of angel that I thought was missing. Not sure if it's particularly sexay, but it could be fun to write a character so outre and extreme. Let me know if you're already full up - but Uriel is hardly going to be busting about the place being loud and getting in the way.

Uriel is a youngster, very pale skinned and very dark eyed. Not gaunt but very slim. He has what have been called expressive eyes, which is a good job, because nobody has ever heard him speak so much as a word.

Uriel watches. He doesn't invade privacy, but he's permanently on the outside, watching the rest of the group. He can be cajoled into joining group activities, but always interacts silently and as soon as others turn their attention elsewhere he floats to the outside of the group again. He's not miserable by any means, in fact normally he has a quiet smile on his face, but that smile doesn't develop into laughter.

IC: Uriel perched on the very top of the roof, wings folded neatly onto his back. He could hear the commotion from downstairs and he'd watched Michael and Lilith walk hand in hand back to the house, but he could hear that everything was coming back under control, and so he stayed where he was. One of the others would, undoubtedly, take charge.

Uriel had been free longer than many of the others. He wasn't one of those rescued by Lilith, he'd watched the guards until they'd broken the pattern and made the mistake that set him free and then many months later he'd spotted someone who looked interesting and followed them home to this place. His acceptance had been gratifying, but Uriel knew that some of the winged were frustrated that he hadn't integrated more. Joined their schemes. Their jokes. They didn't really understand. How can you observe properly, purely, from the inside?

Uriels keen eyes latched onto a deer, foraging outside the house. Although it did little more than pick through the leaf litter and then drink from the lake, before wandering out of sight, Uriel nodded with satisfaction. He liked it when things behaved as they should. Stayed in order.

Eve

OOC: To those who started, I regret that I will not be able to resume posting my character EVE in this thread. At this time I am in the middle of some personal problems. However, in the future, hopfully if i get things worked out, maybe I can resume. Thank you

OCC: Take care. ((Avalon))

IC: Gabriel eventually calmed down and headed back down to the kitchen, dragging his guitar with him. It was something like a security blanket for him. When he had it, he was usually in some sort of mood. He glanced in the door, feeling sheepish, to see who was still around. The whole scene had been pretty bad.

(( we will miss you but you can always re-appear.. hopefully you keep the subscription going to your e-mail and can keep up with our latest moment))

Amy woke in a sweat and looked about her terrified. She wasn't sure if the dream was just a dream or in her case a nightmare or was it a form of a premination.

Amy looked at the picture she had drawn, so many faces and many she knew were gone. Then that strange feeling came over her that made her feel on fire inside.

Amy headed to the kitchen and climbed on a chair. She looked over at Gabriel then to the floor. She looked at him differently and that was bad. Bad because she had new yearnings that made her want things that she wasn't meant to have. She was noticing the differences between her and the others and the boys. Only Gabriel wasn't a boy he was more, if only she understood what

Gabriel spotted Amy coming into the kitchen through the other door and almost backed up. He wasn't sure what to say to her after that little scene and after she had kissed him. He laughed at himself and forced himself to move forward.

He had taken the time, before coming down, to change into his red swimming trunks, a Nightmare Before Christmas t-shirt and had thrown his beach towel around his neck. The hundred dollar bill was tucked into his swim trunks, seeing as he didn't have any pockets. He knew they all needed the money, but it made him feel more secure to have it. He knew there was no way in Hel he was meantioning movies again.

The others seemed to have more memories that caused them pain. He seemed to be missing those memories. He wasn't sure if this was a good thing, or if they were just repressed and would come out in other ways. He was scared of the glimpses he did get, so he didn't try to remember. Amy must be having those sort of flashbacks, or she won't be having these problems. If only...

"Hey Amy. Be right back." Gabriel turned and jogged back down the hallways with his guitar and returned to his room. He grabbed a small paperback book he had found in the dumpster for the local library. He had taken to raiding the dumpster every few days in hopes that new books would appear. The book was a brown hard cover book with hands on the cover. The title was The Joy Of Signing.

Gabriel popped back into the kitchen and tried to act naturally. He ruffled Amy's hair and plopped down next to her. "Hey kiddo, look what I found!" He set the book down between them and opened it randomly. "It's pictures that tell you how to talk with your hands. It's called American Sign Language. I figured we could figure it out together." He pointed to a line drawing of someone signing. They looked like they were beating their chest. "See, that's the sign for gorilla!" Gabriel started beating his chest. "Go on, give it a try."

Gabriel knew it would take awhile before she could communicate her thoughts this way, but at least she would be able to start saying simple things like "I'm cold" or "play that song again". I hoped that if it worked, he could get the others to learn as well, but that was in the future.
