I have been having problems for a while now, week or 2.
When I have Windows Explorer open and click on a .JPG to view it, then close the viewer program, I get an "Invalid Page Fault" in SHSTGEA.DLL
It doesn't happen in MyComputer.

I have ran a spybot program, virus scan, scandisk, even ran scanreg /fix.
I know I had problems with this disk hanging up after installing Palm PDA software, which didn't install right. I have removed it.

What is that .dll? and can anyone tell me where to look next, please? I can't reload Windows Explorer, can I?
Thanks,

What viewer are you using for the JPG's?

The only advice I can think of right now is try a google search on the error message - sorry, I know it's like the old "take two aspirin and call me in the morning" advice, but that's the best I got right now. If I think of anything else to try I'll post here.

YEA!

Here's an article for your curiosity, along with a resolution to the problem. Found at Microsoft.com:

I really meant to say what viewer program I was using, and realized later that I forgot to include it. Now, I'm glad I did.
It is ACDSee, which is a good viewer that came with my HP CD-RW software from HP.

However, I DO have PictureIt, which is what this refers to.
I remember vaguely seeing the "Catalog" box checked when I was huriedly resizing a pic to post here on Lit. I NEVER USE THE CATALOG function! But it looks like something turned it on and screwed things up. I didn't even say which directories had a problem.
But I uninstalled the catalog manager program and it looks like the problem is FIXED. If I had searched for the problem, I probably would have searched wrongly!

Thank you for the help.
I think it is wonderful that I can get answers so fast from someone so far away, in such a short time.
Thanks Lit!
