I was just sitting here on lit wasting my time, having laughs, generally whiling the hours away. Relaxing, so to speak.
The phone rings. A woman identified herself as a worker for a local politician that she described as "a conservative business owner" and asked if they could count on my support in the next election.
She then described the office and then the only opponent as an "ex-professional athlete" and did not name him.
Can we count on your support?
No.
May I ask why?
I don't like the word conservative
(small chuckle) You must have met someone who gave you an unfavorable opinion of conservatives.
Yes, lot's of them.
(chuckles again) Well, look into the two candidates and choose the one that you think can best do the job.
