It now takes 1.45 million Rials to equal a single Dollar. The average Iranian makes about $130 a month. People there are calling for the death of Khamenei

A scnario where Khamenei is abducted like Maduro is not really plausible.

It’s up to the Iranian people. The Persian diaspora fully supports regime change and are working with people in Iran to support them. Russia seems disinclined to ride to the rescue of the IRGC, so the regime has no one to turn to if the police and the army join the rebels.

It does not look good for the Supreme Leader. Credible chatter has him eyeing Moscow as a last refuge, never the posture of a regime confident in its future. What may be unfolding is not a momentary crisis, but the possible collapse of an ideology that has ruled by coercion and myth for more than four decades. When clerics start planning exits instead of sermons, history is usually already in motion.

According to certain people here, an Asian hooker could be had for a can of corn.

Rob, an impotent old man believing a can of corn can buy anything at all, is what terminal decline looks like. His is a gnawing appetite without capacity, ambition without currency, authority composting into farce.:(

Iran could split into several nations, like Yugoslavia did.

In the southwest is Khuzestan -- Arabs. Hussien's pretext for invading Iran in the '80s was Arab nationalism -- liberating the Khuzestani Arabs from Persian rule. They could merge with Iraq, if it doesn't mind having still more Shi'ites.

In the west is Kurdistan -- which could merge with Iraqi Kurdistan.

In the east is Balochistan, which could merge with Pakistani Balochistan.

And the Azeris in the north could merge with Azerbaijan.

That sounds like wishful thinking. The current regime will fail but Iran/Persia will survive as it has numerous regime changes for almost 3,000 years. There are many minorities in Iran but they will be cautious because by far the biggest minority is the number of Iranians living in their border countries

This is so weird to me, that the leader of any nation would voluntarily exile themselves to a foreign land rather than step aside and remain at home in their own culture/society. It's some kind of perverse "my way or the highway" being applied to themselves but where they go from king to bootlicker as if that's preferable to a quiet private life where they grew up. It makes no sense.

Didn't he arrive in Iran from someplace else? Maybe France?

What would have happened to Assad if he had stayed in Syria?

Iran has already had one anti-US revolution to get rid of the puppet. They also defended their country against a militaristic petro-invader.

They may not like their Islamic Cult Leader but at least he's not a KKKhristian Cult Leader.
