Why would immigrants be "obedient"?

On the one hand, the RW tells us -- at least, Trump has been telling us for years -- that the present wave of immigration is dangerous because the immigrants are "criminals." OTOH, the RW tells us -- at least, Tucker Carlson tells us -- that the Democrats are encouraging it to change the electorate (somehow, even though immigrants have to become citizens before they vote) because immigrants are "more obedient" than native-born citizens.

It can't be both ways.

I know, peck. It doesn't make sense to me either. A large proportion of immigrants from latin-american countries have very conservative views on religious issues like pro-life, anti-trans and anti-gay rights. Also, the older generation of immigrants have very libertarian views on economic issues. The Republican party should be doing everything they can to foster this potential boom of voters into their base, in fact in the last election Trump made significant if small gains in both black and latino demographics. Yet in their rhetoric, they want to boot them out the door construct a wall around the country, dig a moat around it filled with alligators and boa constrictors, and mount machine guns and flamethrowers on top of the wall.

That's another thing -- not only does nobody have any reason to expect immigrants to be more "obedient," nobody has any reason to expect them to reliably vote Dem -- if they could vote.

And, of course, they cannot vote until they are naturalized. Which takes time, and nobody in politics thinks that far ahead. And illegal immigrants cannot even apply for citizenship. Their children born here might be citizens, but, again, nobody thinks that far ahead.

There is an old, old meme in America to the effect that nonwhites are inherently incapable of Anglo-Saxon things like freedom and self-government. This might be an updated variation.

I don't know where you've been but hundreds, thousands of 'em voted in the last presidential election. Proof? We don't need no stinkin' proof! Donald told me so!

Illegal aliens and the Democrats encouraging them to break our laws are criminals.
