and why are the Turks undergoing a new purge of the military?

Well, the Kurds have seized control of their part of Syria without firing a shot, the Kurds of Iraq want to go their own way with their oil, and after Desert Storm we had boots on the ground helping the Turks suppress their Kurdish population...

Saladin was a Kurd.

;) ;)

PS - The Russians don't have Marines on the way, they just have Marines underway.

yeah and?

I for one am totally fucking tired of hearing 'Assad is killing his own people', while ignoring the fact that Eric Holder, with Obama's permission, killed Brian Terry (who was in fact one of our own people), the Attorney General of Mexico, and over 200 Mexican citizens with the full faith and credit of the US government, under the direct supervision of the BATF.

Will we care if the Kurds are gassed?

;) ;)

If they can threaten three nations with implosion, who does it help? Iran? Russia? Anybody?

Some will care if the Kurds are gassed....China and Russia will have egg on their face.

Hopefully this trend of them killing each other will continue.

I don't care about the politics of other countries. Let them kill each other and then deal with the winners. Civil war are extremely personal and any intervention will require years of peacekeeping with no clear end in sight.

Kurdistan tensions with Baghdad increase following report of secret arms deal
Special to WorldTribune.com
Friday, August 3rd, 2012

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s autonomous region of Kurdistan was said to have
signed its first arms deal with an unidentified country.

The Baghdad government has determined that the Kurdish Regional
Government signed a contract for a range of weapons to protect the northern
Iraqi zone from foreign invasion.

Officials said the arms agreement included anti-tank guided missiles, air defense systems and artillery.

“We know all about the agreement and are trying to block it,” an
Iraqi official said.

The official said the accord was signed during a recent foreign tour by
KRG President Massoud Barzani. The weapons were said to have been
manufactured in Russia, but the official did not say whether Moscow was the supplier.

Hopefully this trend of them killing each other will continue.

And maybe the victor can then take out Israel, who continue to mock worldwide human rights by routinely drinking the blood of innocent Christian babbies.
