Why no "Newbie" board?

I'm new to Literotica, and like most people dealing with a new site, have lots of questions. I don't see a place to post such questions. Maybe there is and I just don't recognize it. I'm guessing I'm not alone. I'm also hoping there are some experienced gurus around willing to take the time to mentor a new member.

One question I had is answered by the following:

What do the colored icons beside stories mean?

The yellow NEW's (New) denote stories which have recently been published on Literotica.com.

The red H's (Hot) denote stories which have received 10 or more votes from readers, and maintain an average vote of 4.5 out of 5 or better.

The yellow E's (Editor) denote "Editor's Choice" stories. These are pieces that we really like - just our opinion.

The green W's (Winner) are next to stories that have been chosen by readers as winners in our Monthly, Yearly, or Special contests.

Because then the GB wouldn't have new fodder for ages and ages.

That would be best answered in the Authors hang out.

The General board is for trial by fire, you survive it, you become a GBer... :D

Aw shucks, you know how to make a guy feel right at home. Truth is, maybe I'm spoiled by Facebook, but just commenting on or replying to something someone said without quoting the whole damn post has me stymied. Seriously, I like the stories here but the way the boards work takes me back to the stone-age bulletin boards of the 90s. Maybe that's why you can make such a claim, Notorius. :)

It's an old bulletin board, the engine behind it too.

Maybe it is because I am now considered on old timer here but I like the way the bulletin board is. It functions extremely well and suits me just fine. Perhaps once you familiarize yourself with the board and how it works you'll feel differently.

Welcome anyway. Please keep your sense of humour handy at all times and deploy it frequently. :)

yes.
we all knew it was
misspelled,
but we were not
big enough asses
to point it out.

Why would anyone want to leave, we are totally wonderful. You don't need a newbie board.

My question is why does it take >> 100 << posts before we can embed images and get our own avatar? Sheesh.. I'm running out of stuff to post in here!!

Find a numbers thread, that is what they are there for.

A Newbie Board would just become:

"Hi, I'm new here."

"Welcome to Lit. Show us your tits."
