Pigs are piglets, horses are foals, bears are cubs, dogs are puppies. Every other creature has a special name for the babies, except humans.

Human infants are called babies. We call other animals "baby" whatevers out of human chauvinism.
Kind of like a male chauvinist might declare someone a "female doctor" or "female farmer". If that makes sense.

But "perfect, wide-eyed widdle cutie pies" works too.

For the record, the only chauvinist expression I use is "lady mailman", and I only use that for reasons of specificity.
