Why is the media promoting transgenderism so heavily?

And why is it that my even asking the question is going to brand me a bigot?

From the proclamation on the cover of Time:

http://media.boingboing.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/original-1-930x1240.jpg

To entertainment stories blatantly admitting we are being told what to think:
The year that was: In 2014, TV transformed the way we think
(Note: Entertainment Weekly is owned by Time.)

To new TV shows, such as this forthcoming reality show being produced but ABC Family:
My Transparent Life

And now transgenders are being admitted into women's universities.
http://www.universityherald.com/articles/13685/20141208/scripps-college-to-admit-transgender-women.htm which of course means the end of women's sports as transgenders have the same physical advantage that men have.

What the fuck is happening here? The percentage of transgenders is 0.05% of the population or less. Why have we been groomed to accept this as normal?
perhaps for the same reason you opened a thread about black people
or how other stuff are being promoted, like 2 same sex people adopting a baby?

There is no argument, Bot. Me trying to educate you is not an argument. You claiming to have read something and not understanding it is not an argument.

I know there is no argument. You're saying women can compete with men in sheer brute strength...and 100% of data out there sayz you full of it.

The people I listed by name won unisex records. They beat men at whatever it was they were competing for, including running and weightlifting.

They beat men at gymnastics, synchronized swimming, horse riding, archery and shooting. Hardly measures of sheer strength.

Running and weight lifting? I'm sorry..men hold all of those records champ.

Because muscle mass....science says I'm right....records show I'm right.

You have....some opinion piece at best? LOL you can do better than that.

Or you could just admit that even in the most extreem situations women don't have the same muscle density, mass, lung capacity and bone density as men. And that translates directly into physical performance factors that have lead us to segregate sports. Not just because we don't want to watch the Seattle Seahawks send an all female team to the ICU in the first 15 seconds of the game....

But because we don't want to pay for it......or watch it...what a lame fucking game.

"The Seahawks have injured their entire defensive line up on the first play, game over folks!!"

But enjoy your sexism.

Physiology and performance records/statistics = sexism now? LOL

This is worse than the time you tried to tell me the giant sequoias, western hemlock and Douglas fir are actually pine trees and how horrible they are for like 2 pages LMFAO

Agree with Botany on everything.. except the gymanstics part

somehow keeping your body suspended for about 20 minutes at a time using literally only your hands..doesnt somehow qualify as strength?

men's gymanstics is pretty damn hardcore too.. being shorter inlength but usally more acrobatic.. due to ..you got... increased muscle... but the sessions are shorter as men are more inclined to injury for some reason

and Candicame.. while they are a dear... does have a tendency to just make shit up.. but people can use google, so I dont know why

Gymnastics along with the rest do require strength and endurance. But they dont' measure them. Lifting x weight, or running/biking/climbing x distance/elevation in x time does. It's a hard measurement of the individuals maximum physical performance.

Unlike a panel of judges deciding if you really stuck that triple Lindy perfect or not.

Thus my dismissal of gymnastics/synchronized swimming etc as a way to measure strength/endurance.

Media is withering on the vine, its over for them. They flee from facts like Dracula flees from garlic.

We discover truth when we fall outta trees and pee on electric fences. Otherwise the traditional sources for truth are unreliable.

Because Social Justice movements become industries unto themselves and cannot end in victory; defeat will never happen because they are fueled by the altruism of outraged moral busybodies and guided by a frustrated intellectual class and each victory leads only to the next battle. When they have achieved their last human goal, then there are Real Dolls™ and now sex robots which will need to be mainstreamed.

The intellectual class needs to be of worth to society, as we all do. However, in a Democracy, the unwashed masses do not need or wish the guidance of the intellectual and this frustrates not the entire class, but that subset of lesser intellectuals who are not recognized for their works and thoughts. This frustration is loosed upon the masses through the college campus as they claim a right and duty to educate our children to values that are designed to shatter Democracy and lead to an Oligarchy in which they are, as in times of old and Kings and Queens, once again, the valued confidants and advisors.

[following the argument of Eric Hoffer in The Ordeal of Change with additional thoughts of my own guided by 50 years of observation]

The media will do everything it can to inculcate itself within the intellectual class, but unbeknownst to them, they are just window dressing kept at arm's length, preferably by a good stiff-arm...

Just got finished reading the last few pages of this thread. The conversation going on here supports what I quoted above.

It really is interesting, how much peer pressure is being applied to me for merely asking questions. Would most of these people look the other way if I were round up and shot for thinking differently? Probably. I am sure they could easily justify it in their minds. Such a strange world we are living in.

I think I know what you're saying, but I'm wondering if it's less the result of a secret and powerful "who" and more the result of the global corporate power slowly outstripping that of laws/governments?

Like, sexually explicit material is completely Constitutional and legal. However, the iTunes store and (more recently) Google Play both ban apps containing adult-related material (unless, of course, it's inside a major corporate app like Amazon, but that's another discussion).

You can still access Lit from your web browser (for now), so it's not censorship. Right?

Americans generally accept that private orgs have the right to set their own guidelines. I support this wholeheartedly - because if one publication won't accept your views, another one will. And you're always free to set up your own blog/website and publish your own stuff.

Like the Thought Catalog thing. Gavin could put that article on his own site or on another website.

But what happens when the majority of Americans access the Internet from smart Devices powered by Android or iOS, and Google and Apple (a virtual monopoly) decide they won't let you navigate to certain types of sites - sites which the masses have decided are "hateful" or "derogatory" or "icky"? Isn't that de facto censorship, even though not done by a government body?

I'm against racial, sexual/gender, and any other bigotry. I believe it's important to society that everyone gets to have - and discuss - their own opinions. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Discussion is how we discover truth.

That's why the First Amendment and Free Speech are important (to me, as an American, that's my bias). But do those concepts matter now? Those are governmental/legal concepts, not shared by all governments. Global corps aren't bound by them. If they could make an extra buck by turn the Internet into a blanket of kitten and puppy gifs and advertising, they would. Blandifying makes them money. The transgender thing is not about appealing to transgendered people - it's about appealing to middle class wallets, and to Gen Y and their future wallets.

The next 20 years should be interesting.

I think that case could be made stronger if the complaint wasn't that the media was finally allowing a voice to be given to a group that had previously been marginalized into silence.

It's the GB, all questions are presumed to be a means of advancing an agenda.

Messianic civil rights warriors in the media need new ground to plow. Blacks and gays are old ground. Been worked to death. This is fresh ground. Relatively speaking, of course.

They'll reward us with violence on a grand scale soon enough.
