They are not comparible. A redneck can always just act respectable and very few people actually use it anyhow. Also these are not historically (and to this day affected) by the history of Race in this country. One have had a rough time for centuries.

Because it has always been okay to demean lower class white people. Doesn't make it right though. In a debate on another topic I mentioned I live in Tennessee. Almost immediately the standard stupid northern liberal stereotypes were applied to me, uneducated, live in a trailer that I don't even own, and I am either married to or merely having sexual relations with my sister. Saying these things makes northern liberals feel superior while not noting their very own hypocritical standards.
While mentioning anything by a white person about a minority population that is considered derogatory, even if they say it about themselves, is currently taboo. Personally I taught my kids when they were young that there is no reason for a white person to ever say the N word and if I heard them say it I would slap their face off their head.

I love that the entire inquiry is in the thread title. It's a glaring testimonial to how little Lit Deplorables understand race, how privileged they act, and how delicate they are.

I didn't say it doesn't happen. Simply less used. Given you truly tried to make this a racial issue, this is a class issue when we are talking about being called a redneck. Really no different from calling someone trailer trash.
I'm not saying that its acceptable but it is rich coming from the right who actively attack almost every minority group in the nation.

Tbh, I don't typically use either term, though their origins are fairly easily explored to address the OP.
I don't have a preference of like or dislike based on race.
