The plaster is falling off my walls.

Apparently a chunk the size of my armspan peeled off when I was at the lab today.

This started around 4AM yesterday morning when my roommate woke me up to show me the fissure in our ceiling that was dripping water at a rapid rate. Apparently our upstairs neighbours don't know how to stop a toilet from overflowing. For an hour.

The building management has been fantastic. They're fixing everything, and they even changed our burnt out lights when they came in with a ladder (the ceilings are high up, and we have but a stepstool). Now we're waiting for all the plaster to fall off and the walls to dry out before they come in to re-do everything.

I'm so glad that this is only my minimally my problem. And I'm so glad we didn't even think about wallpapering.

Well..I would point out that if both you AND your upstairs neighbor owned their respective places, they would sure as HELL figure out how to prevent the damage to their floors a lot faster than that! :)

PS to add that I love your AV! :rose:

Haha, thank you .

Maybe they'd be more careful... but they swear it was only overflowing for 10 minutes (though the quantity of water says otherwise), and they didn't report any damage to the management.

We only know it was them, because asking upstairs was important to diagnose whether it was a whoopsie, or a pipe exploded.
