Wait......what? :( I'm sorry...it's been a while since I've hung out here. What are you talking about?

I hate to admit it but the poo flinger has a certain point. You don't win friends and influence people by pulling shit like what was described. I don't know if all the people in the church opposed gay mariage or not, but they probably do now.

Box you are making even less sense than normal, however you exaggerations seem to be the same as usual.

So you did agree with the fascism then?

Fascism? I just think they might have injured their cause. :( That's what he was saying. They've probably really alienated people who would vote for gay marriage into not voting for them by what they did. It's what JBJ said.....so I guess I kinda agree...? Not that they shouldn't win, but that they've made things harder for themselves by acting so erratically.

I wasn't actually meaning what he said more... the way he said it.

True the way he said it was offensive, but fascist? I'm not sure I understand. :( If that is referring to opinions he's had in the past then great. But HERE he's not excluding anybody from the right to do anything, not saying we should stifle behavior or repress/control what people do, say or think. I will agree that it could have been presented with more finesse though.

Gays fail to see how their two-headed brothers stigmatize everyone. People dont recognize the average gay because the average gay isnt showing his ass like the clowns in Michigan. People SEE the two-headed cyclops and generalize. And YOU protect these freaks.

True, I'm a fascist, but GAUCHE has no more idea of what a fascist is than she knows what fornication is.

... but ultimately you create more enemies than you had before you acted up.

I really don't think any of the closed-minded churchgoers could get any more anti-gay than they already were, so for them the protests would have had no affect. The pro-gay crowd will sympathize, while also disapproving of the methods. So, who's left? Are there really that many fence-sitters in the anti-gay movement? Polling indicates that it's a generational thing, meaning it will be a few years before the bigots all die off and tolerance becomes the majority position.

There are those new minority voters in the Obama camp who are polling conservatively on social issues, but it's entirely possible that their entrance into the political landscape will be accompanied by an expanded view of the world rendering their conservatism moot. People have a tendency to fear what they don't know. Once they become more familiar with the gay lifestyle, they will see the protesters for what they are - extremist on the fringe with no correlation to the majority of the group.

I looked it up, and you are. I'll also add misogynist, elitist and closeted.

I also looked up fornication, which led to fornicator which led to fucker, which led to fuck, which led to cunt, which had a picture of you!

Box you are making even less sense than normal, however you exaggerations seem to be the same as usual.

What exaggerations? Let's put it thia way: If you had been attending that church and had been inclined to believe that gay people were entitled to the same rights as straight people, and members of Bash Back came in and disrupted the service, would you say something like: "Gee, I must say those nice boys and girls certainly have a point there. I think I will be solidly on their side in whatever they want."

Or would you say something like: "Goodness, I never realized gay people were such radicals and vandals. Now I'm sorry I voted in favor of gay marriage. Well, it didn't matter, because it didn't pass anyhow."

Personally, I think most persons who had been leaning toward gay rights would have changed their minds on the subject. That's why I said the poo flinger had a point, even though he and I are on different sides of this issue.

How can you actually KNOW anything about the persons attending the church in question? Are you familiar with their doctrines? Some churches are actually quite gay friendly, and some church-goers are actually gay.

Don't be so sure that the gays will lose. I believe that history and posterity are on their side, as it should be.

I think you are probably right, and I hope so. In time, most people should come to see gays and lesbians as just people, with almost the same wants and needs as anybody else. However, those described in the news item are really not helping their cause any. :(
