Why does HBO need to replay the same things?

HBO shows the same movies the same way top 40 stations over play decent music until you can't stand them any more. I'm watching riding in cars with boys for like the 50th time, thereby erasing any desire I might have to ever own the movie b/c I've seen it so damn many times.

Yet...I still haven't seen all of the 4th or 5th season of sex in the city....less movies, more repeats of SATC

You dont have much right to complain if you are actually watchign a movie you have seena bazillion times.

They play them because they dont figure anyone will have seen their entire programmign for the month. They pay a fee to show the films for a certain period of time.

You might try watching less HBO. I mean with their selectiona nd the fact that they have 5 or more versions, its kinda crazy to complain aobut watching a movie you have already seen.

Turn off the TV.

To help authors!!!

It's perfect!!

I love to write naughty stories curled up in a corner of the couch with the TV set on and the sound turned down to just a murmur.

If I get stumped in a passage, I can look up for a brief distraction, and then get back to the paper!

It's either that - or I put in one of my favorite DVD's.

(but you're right - we used to refer to HBO as "Hey Beastmaster's On" because it seems that is all they showed month after month after month. And with a satellite dish now - we get it from the East Coast, West Coast, etc. Eeeeek!!!)

HELL NO...I"m between semesters...it's part of the few times a year I actually get to watch tv

So stop complaining. You are using TV to occupy your time. Doesnt matter whats on.

Hey...wedding planners on again too

How 'bout renting a movie if thats what you are seeking. Otherwise try TNT, TBS, etc for maybe a late showing of a film you have not seen.

Or try some internet radio for a distraction in the background.

because I dislike commercials and enjoy complaining about hbo and it's lack of reshowing sex and the city

Good reminder as to how much I dont miss TV.

Edited to add: Its high comedy that you would complaina bout commercials but yet are comfortable with watching a movie you have already seen more times than your liking. High comedy indeed.

I wonder why ESPN feels the need to play the same episode of Sportcenter 8 times a day...they play the news once..it's a miss it you miss it type deal...sportscenter comes on like we have the memory capacity of fruitflies...

"How bout them Cardinals! But who won that UVA game? Eh, I'll catch it next hour..."

All the cable networks do that. They have encore presentations of repeat presentations of special presentations.

TB4p

That is one reason why I quit paying for so-called premium channels like HBO. I grew tired of paying for a channel that kept showing repeats of movies that I didn't want to see when they were new, much less now that they are 20 years old.
