Why does garlic make you thirsty?

I got a little heavy handed with the garlic on the garlic bread last night, of which I ate some leftovers today and I'm still feeling like I have cotton mouth and I can still taste it.
 
I agree with sexielexie...its probably not the garlic itself its what you ate it with.

Salt, butter which is all used to make garlic bread etc


Of course the only way your going to find out is to eat some straight garlic and see what happens the next day.

I think garlic makes you thirsty because it is a base and dries out your toung, where as acids make you salivate.
