Why Do You Let Your Pm Box Overflow?

I'm trying to clean out my PM box and I realized that there are quite a few I don't want to throw out. Maybe I'm sentimental or just plain silly, but I hate throwing away some of these pm's.

I've noticed how often people start a thread telling someone to clear out their PM box, and it makes me wonder..

Are they full because it's easier to be a bit lazy, and allow them to build up instead of deleting?

Or are they full because you, like me, hate throwing away sweet or funny PM's that you enjoyed reading?

I try to keep on top of mine, but sometimes it just becomes overwhelming, sort of like the clutter in the house. When that happens, I close the blinds and don't answer the door, or in the case of Lit, shut off my PMs for a few days.

A little of both, but usually it's because what was said was so engaging and fun,
that the words become sentimental to me.

And the boxes are so easy to fill.
I officially cleared mine about a week and a half ago
(from Jan when I logged on) and it was so painfu. :(

Now, it's Tues. and it's already halfway full again!
*sigh*

Overflow? Ha! I take a air hose and blow the cobwebs out every three months or so.;)

I'm a lot like that myself, Ruby. :)

Now why do I doubt you fella's when you say that no one pm's you? ;)

Most are full, because people like to save copies of what they've sent. If you turn off the option to save a copy in your sent messages folder, you can save more of the keepers.

On the other hand, if you really want to save the Kepers, click on File -> Save As in you browser and sent a copy to a folder on your hard-drive where you don't have a limit to how many you can keep.

Like you I keep a few, put in a save folder. Most get tossed immediately.

I always turn off the save copy option, and rarely use the tracking one.

I don't care what I write, it's what others write that interests me. :)

Good idea about the saving, I've thought about it and I guess it's about time I start.

Hiya, Daph :)

I copy and paste the ones I want to keep into my email account. I've only been caught once with my pants down..so to speak. And that was just a few weeks ago.

So either I'm vigilant or I rarely get pm's.;)

I don't let my PM box get more then 4 at a time. I used to be lazy, &, have to have people tell me to do it. So, yeah, I don't like deleting PM's. But, it's either that, or, have a full PM box. And, in that case, you're obviously not gonna get more.
