Why do you giggle with the racists?

Why do you feel it is okay to chat and giggle with the well known racists on lit?

Would you do so out in real life? Why do you do it here?

Why do you turn your head as your "friends" here post racist comments?

I'm fascinated by this classic lit activity. Joe might be a racist, but that's okay cause he's nice to me!

The justifications boggle my mind, seriously. I wouldn't put up with that shit from people in my offline life, why would do people put up with it on forums?

Are you a closet racist? Bigot? moron?

This is why I sometimes loathe this place. I get my entertainment out of it by throwing a few insults at the people I don't like.

But the part of lit I find disgusting is how easily people seem to just chat it up with the racists. KS just being one large example.

It's a forum with thousands of users. It isn't as though we're lacking threads or people to chat with.

It's as if there is a collective lit effort to just ignore a lot of the racism that goes on here.

Unfortunately, there are degrees of racism, there are degrees of cruelty, there are degrees of ass-hatness.

Like the guy from Clerks 2, who grew up with his grandma calling him a porch monkey, some people get used to certain behavior. Therefore, they're not as shocked as others are by certain words.
