Is it because you always did and you just do it out of habit?

Is it because it has some special meaning to you?

Is it something else entirely?

Or do you even celebrate it?

Inquiring minds want to know/ :)

Why?

Because my wife would kill me if I didn't.

And because Hallmark said I have too or else (they got these big guys you see, that come around to your house...).

Same situation, dude takes time to post a thread, and no one replies. Hate it. Gotta do something about it.

i dont celebrate it. im single. :D
we have/had a girls night with errrm plenty of chocolate, plenty of wine, fun leg waxing, face masks and cheezy movies.
thats how it is supposed to be celebrated. :)

Halo :rose:

I don't celebrate it for a few reasons, chief among them being the two about being single and also it having turned into nothing but a day to play favorites and make money.

I prefer to remind my friends of my appreciation for them when the mood strikes me, instead of on an appointed day where you have tto buy crap.

We don't celebrate Valentine's Day around here either. It's not that we're too settled but simply financial reasons. By the time February rolls around, we're pretty low on cash thanks to Christmas and utility bills. February is also a busy birthday month...with four birthdays. So sacrifices are made and Valentine's Day is one of them. Maybe when the kids grow up we'll go back to celebrating it ;)

Grew up celebrating Valentine's day receiving cards and candies from Mom and various close relatives. Shared cards with friends as I got older, then fortunately had a few years where a significant and generous man was in my life which made the day a bit more special.

This year, however, was the greatest holiday ever, getting such wonderful gifts and attention and a personal visit from my lover! (Thanks Oman!) :rose:

I LOVE Valentine's Day!

I've always loved Valentine's Day, even when I'm single....
always received cards from my parents, friends, other family
members.....and enjoyed flowers, candy, little stuffed animals
and beanie babies over the years.........

Every day should be Valentine's Day! :)

I remember one year, back in college (when I was a sophomore),
my then boyfriend (who at the time was at grad school at
Syracuse U.) cooked me dinner....I remember it....this chicken,
and I can't remember what else, but it was a good effort for him :D
Real sweet though ;)

I think also another reason is my parents.......my dad always gets
my mom flowers for V-day (and also for anniversary, birthday,
mother's day!)......and just from that one gesture I expect men
to get me flowers :) I remember having to beg my "then-boyfriend"
back in college to get me flowers for V-day but he said they die
anyway :(

Anyhow, that's my 2 cents :)

hm. I sent e-cards to say "thinking of you" but... I'm pretty sure I did whatever the opposite of celebrating is. My control of the day got wrestled from me, I more like "went with the flow" I think you could say.

Nothing wrong with sending ecards for Valentine's Day....
I did that too for some special friends........however one
friend of mine didn't get a paper card from me so I sent her
an ecard ;)
