ok, any ideas what this is all about? for the last couple of days when i get an e-mail with an attachment i get the following message at the top of the e-mail, "OE removed access to the following unsafe attatchment in your mail" and the the name of the attachment. of course, i can't open anything that anyone has sent me.

which button should i push and who the hell is OE??

i'd venture to say, outlook express... ask weird harold about it... i know you can turn off something in the options, but i dont know what exactly.

Open Outlook Express and click on "Tools" and then "Options".

In Options select the "Security" tab and uncheck the box that says "Do not allow attachemnents to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus".

Once you've done that click "Apply" and "OK" and close the box. You should be able to access the attachments then.

Do this only if you are sure there is ni virus in the attachment. I woulkn't do this.

thanks all. that freed them up but i still always wonder how settings like that get checked in the first place. i'm the only one that uses this computer and i didn't do it. i still think it's gremlins.

and thanks for the concern carp. these are messages from my sister and my daughter and i have a good antivirus program running.
