Why do so many pornstars have tattoos?

So maybe a totally naive question.

If it’s correlated to drug use, i wouldn’t know. I tried weed once and hated it. My only drugs are alcohol, caffeine and semen.

Is it a gangsta thing?

Is it - girls here I guess - trying to break out of constantly playing a virginal teen in your late 20s?

Is it some tribal thing? Or marking yourself as somehow different?

Of course the motivations may be entirely different for different people. Just thinking about any overarching themes.

Full disclosure: I have no tattoos and know very little about them (as if that wasn’t entirely obvious).

I don't think porn stars have all THAT many tattoos.
Though they probably have more than most people because they don't have to worry about losing their job.
It is also worth remembering that most of these women are college aged, and younger people tend to get more ink
Some of them seem to get much more tattooed as they get older.

Every young woman I meet now has ink. Waitress, girls in my pool league, the receptionist AND nurse at my doc!

I think it‘s a generational thing. Funny you mention this, I just saw a Bill Maher bit on tat’s. It’s hilarious.

Some of the hottest gay porn involves an older bigger guy covered in tatts fucking a younger little guy with no tatts. I guess it's all about contrast.

While we’re on the subject. I don’t have any tats. When I was growing up only Sailors/Soldiers, Bikers, and just plain bad asses had tats.

Walked into a ink shop in Panama City Bch when in the military with some buddies, and after browsing for a few minutes, realized all the art on the wall were on some dudes arm and I didn’t want a Nick Cage, Tex Cobb moment like in Raising Arizona!

Having said all that, I’m curiously fascinated with women that have tastefully done ink. It has to be like a flowing scene that has continuity. I don’t like the random odd artifacts of ones life plastered up and down with no rhythm. One of my favorite servers at a pub i frequent has a beach scene on one arm from shoulder to elbow. It flows and it really helps she is quite attractive. 🤣

I met Maddy May yesterday and I know she's inked. Her's compliment her beautifully. I'm not a big fan of her stuff; but, as an individual, she's very down to earth.

I won't speculate on her free time activities or proclivities, but I wouldn't guess that it's at all related to illicit drug use or a gang affiliation. She didn't come across that way.

Most people that invest in ink have thought a lot about it and it has some significance to them personally. Ask and they will probably share. It's an excellent conversation starter with some genuinely awesome people.

I agree hers are somewhat artistic and coherent. In style. Not always the case.

Sadly, emily, I think it’s a modern fashion 😕. Loads of sports stars have them these days. I personally think it’s rather sad, as I’m a great lover of the female form, unadorned or with just the right amount of clothing (I.e. not all that much). Your body doesn’t suffer in the least from their absence 😘

Tattoos are not for me. I have no objection to people doing what they want with their bodies. I just wonder what motivates people to have very dense tattoos. Ones that totally obscure the skin.

It does seem to be common trajectory that starlet X appears doing teen babysitter, younger sister, step-daughter scenes with with either no or minor tattoos. And then after three years in porn they sport more ink than a bubble jet.

Em you are so cute! Love it!

No! You are not weird Em! I don’t find tattoos attactivI’ve, especial on beautiful women! And it is ugly as women age!
It’s like anything. It can be done well or poorly. It’s not for me, but I can see that some people might want to enhance their body. It’s when it comes to obscuring it I guess I question more.

Still worse things happen at sea.

I was going to say that it's a generational thing but then remembered that quite a few guys I know of my age (early 60's) have tatts and piercings some of which have been done quite recently. Doesn't answer your questions about female porn starts though...don't know any of those!
I don’t recall many girls at college being heavily tattooed. Lots of small designs on shoulders or ankles or butt cheeks. The back of the neck under hair as well. Base of the spine. But none that I can recall with biker tattoos. Maybe I’m just getting old, but a lot of the pornstars I’m talking about are around my age, or even older.

1st. I love that you consider SEMEN your drug.

2nd. I think it is out of the constant threat of on the job explosions. They do this so the various body parts can be easily identified in the aftermath, unfortunately.

People get tattoos for all sorts of reasons. I know this shocking to some, but even porn stars don't exist 24/7 so that you can enjoy looking at them. I personally have none, but I find them attractive and visually interesting. It generally says to me that person is creative or exspressive. I don't jump to- drug user. Then again, I try to see humans as humans and not existing so that I personally find them pleasing a hundred percent of the time.

If you don't appreciate it that's cool. Don't engage or scroll on. Its honestly mind blowing the number of people who question what others do with their own body. People having different taste than you shouldn't be a difficult concept when you are an adult. There are a billion porn movies and pictures to look at.

It clearly doesn't damage their career. It is okay for people to exist differently in the world. I am for giving opinions, but some of this stuff (particularly the must be doing drugs stuff) is sort of gross, delusional main character syndrome.
Sorry to have discombobulated you, hun.

I’m sure there’s a public figure argument in there somewhere.

To be entirely honest, the question is guilt based. Having watched next to no porn growing up, I got rather dependent on it after moving state for a job and losing contact with my group.

I still watch it, though I have a boyfriend and, I think, a great sex life. The guilt starts with noting the lives lost along the way. Way too many ODs, intentional or otherwise. I worry (and I am a worrier) that the price for entertaining us - for entertaining me - might be high for some of these girls.

Maybe that mindset gets me looking for problems where there may be none. I recognize I’m projecting.

Hope that makes sense.
