It always makes me sick, but once I start drinking I end up doing it anyway.

Why?

Yuck

I really can't answer that for you, seeing as how I've never done it. I'm a good girl...;) :p

Because you have conditioned yourself to smoke when you drink. They've become paired stimuli to you. You can eliminate the response and the easiest way to do that is to create another similar response that serves the same function. You have to figure out why the drinking leads to smoking. Is it the stimulation, doing something with your hands, or the additional oral stimulation? Once you figure that out you can replace it.

I think the problem is that the pleasure is immediate, whereas the sickness comes later.

Yes, the pleasure from the smoking is a positive reinforcer for you. (Gads, applied behavior analysis and the class is over!) To eliminate the smoking behavior, you're going to have to replace it with something else that serves the same function and gives the same reinforcement.
