Nasty, I'm pretty sure your apologies are accepted by the injured parties. I don't know you well at all, but I think I can be safe in saying that what you said was not meant to hurt anyone intentionally. There are some who are not good at expressing themselves clearly, you are just one of them.

I don't think that you are being shallow...shallow to me would be if you didn't want Ruby(or anyone else) to be your friend because of their weight. Thats shallow. Having a certain sexual preference does not mean you are shallow.
