Why Biden Will Win

I don't think anyone has said he's "sharp as a tack". Pretty much everyone I know has acknowledged that he's not the man he used to be. That does not mean he is ready to be put out to pasture or that he's approaching life as a potato. Not even close.

It means he is older and yes his age makes it difficult to keep his speech motor disorder in check sometimes. But he does have a clear grasp on policy and knows how to effectively work to get legislation passed. That's miles above RFK. And light years above Trump.

I know we need younger blood. I'd love it myself. The "no, you're candidate has dementia!" meme is beyond ridiculous. I'm glad you realize what is at stake - just like ll does. I think a lot of people do. That's why I think Joe Biden will win and his broad coalition against Trump will deliver that.

In the meantime I would encourage everyone to try to get millennials and Zs informed, involved, voting and running. I'd love to vote for a younger generation. I'd love for them to be a loud and boisterous voting bloc. And I mean that with more sincerity and feeling than can effectively be conveyed.
Not sharp as a tack would be ok for à janitor. Not so good for an American president. :)

Which @adrina should we listen to? The pro-democrat or the anti-republican? 🤔

- in reference to Mitch McConnell freezing.

🙄

President Biden (a man with a diagnosed stutter) struggling to find the right words during ONE timed DEBATE, and who was suffering from fatigue and a cold that were related to a documented taxing schedule and the normal duties of the presidency (coupled with campaigning)’is not even remotely comparable to what was going on with Mitch McConnell.

😑

President Biden bouncing back with numerous strong performances at rallies, the NATO conference, etc, suggests that he is perfectly capable and competent to continue as the DULY elected Democratic nominee.

👍

Here’s another one

Yup them too.

As far as I'm concerned no person over the mandatory retirement age should be in any position in federal government. President, VP, senator, representative, judges - kit and kaboodle.

They are too far separated from the younger generations and their "prime" was two generations - or more, heh - ago.

As to Biden V Trump, even given the above I'll vote for the older Biden.

Still I agree with the last part.

Again, when Trump wants Biden to run whilst Obama, Pelossi and Schumer all want him to pull out why are Trumps fiercest critics all on the same page as him ?

Look, I understand why you’re maintaining the position that you are, but in all honesty if Trump were having the same issues Joe is having you would be all over him.

Playing devils advocate here, many older people have TIAs - little mini strokes like McConnell was long before they display other cognitive dysfunctions.

You’re making excuses for Joe simply because he is the Democratic candidate. That is dishonesty.

I don't want to overturn the primary. I want Biden to realize he should step aside for a better candidate.
Tell me a Democratic path to the White House in the electoral college, in your eyes, this year?

And with that in mind, surely Whitmer is the only serious alternative candidate at this stage, considering her popularity in Michigan and helping that blue wall area. But as I pointed out before, even winning all of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, it's still a very narrow path to victory for the Democratic candidate, where they have to hold on to Nebraska's second congressional district electoral vote, because they look almost certain to lose Georgia, Arizona and Nevada.

If Biden is dumped now, it's far more likely to look like a party full of infighting and chaos. 1972 vibes, not 1968.

Bear in mind also that Biden's 306-232 win in 2020, with the same map in 2024 it would be 303-235, so the new electoral college total goes against the current Democratic pattern.

The reasons have been explained ad nauseam as to the reasons why it would be counterproductive to switch horses midstream (past midstream really) - especially when the current horse only had ONE bad stumble, and he is still popular with many riders (voters) who might not be comfortable riding a different horse.

Hope that ^ helps.

Obama, Pelosi and Schumer wanted Hillary Clinton to run in 2016. Good job. They made President Trump a reality. They have all done quite enough, thank you very much.

Yup. Still think Mitch is a danger. Especially with what he's one to SCOTUS. And what he helped Trump to do to SCOTUS.

We have Trump and Biden. I'm with Biden.

I see where your kids learned their attitude about voting.

You need a lot of attention. That hasn't changed. Anyway, you don't really get to criticize anyone for sharpness because A, well you're you and you're a dipshit. And B you support Trump who literally can't even get a complete thought out unless it's a rendition of his lunch with Hannibal Lecter.

What the fuck do you mean by “if” ???

Your comment is EXACTLY what we’re talking about when we refer to the double standard (the Hillary “she isn’t perfect” Clinton standard, really) from "some people" here, on the left, and in the media (elites).

But Obama, Pelossi and Schumer clearly don’t agree with you…….do you disregard them ?

Um have you listened to Trump lately? He talks about sharks, electric batteries, hannibal lecter and all sorts of crazy crap. IF Biden did that I'd be at the front of the put Kamala in there line.

Double haters vote Harris.
I pointed out earlier that the only realistic Democratic path to victory that I see is 270-268. That's basically the 2020 map, except that the Republicans win back Georgia and Arizona, and also gain Nevada, while the Democrats hold on to Nebraska's second congressional district electoral vote. If the Republicans win the latter, it would be 269-269, a recipe for chaos in the current climate.

IMO you should be there now.

You are making shit up about my position and missing the point that you’re undermining your credibility and that of the Democrats as a party.

You can point out whatever you want. Harris would take votes that aren't in play right now. Those voters are staying home because the old fucks are running.

What did I make up?

If you judge my credibility lacking that is on you.

Which votes? Whitmer would at least be big in the blue wall (on paper), but even then (assuming that the Democrats win all of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin) it's razor thin in the electoral college if the Republicans win back Georgia and Arizona, and gain Nevada, and could come down to Nebraska's second congressional district electoral vote.

Harris would not have the same impact in the blue wall, and if just one of those three states goes red, it's surely over.

And if Harris was passed over, wouldn't that seriously piss off the black vote? And how do the Democrats avoid 1972 type vibes?
