Why Biden’s handlers are not having him do the annual Super Bowl interview

And personally, I don’t understand how anyone should grant Fox News and this interview as some kind of traditional thing to be honored. I’ve got 787 million reasons not granting them legitimacy.

There is certainly no requirement for a president to participate in Super Bowl Sunday interviews but it represents an ideal opportunity for an incumbent to get his message heard by millions of Americans. Obama jumped on the opportunity to sit down with then Fox News host Bill O’Reilly (no friend of the administration) without hesitation. Biden’s approval ratings are under water and the country is facing major challenges in an election year but apparently he thinks it’s best to avoid this opportunity. Crazy? Probably not. After all, the aging and infirm Joe Biden is no Barak Obama.

I did not know that's a tradition. It sounds like silly BS.

The game is in Vegas this year. Putting a huge event in a desert town may not be a smart idea.

Lol.
Can we skip all the BS?
The Fox News interview always provide a Democratic president. The opportunity to reach audiences that he normally doesn’t have access to. But Obama and his “handlers” knew from the start that this was skewed. During a Republican presidency, as shown with trump, this interview just serves as a softball session allowing the president to skate on questions regarding Covid, the government shut down, separating of families at the border. If the fairness doctrine still existed, then Trump would have to sit down with Rachel Maddow. Now THAT would be must see tv. BSG is right. I can wait until the state of the union.

(Quoted for posterity and stupidity)

BabyBoobs doesn’t seem to realize that the message IS getting through to decent, intelligent Americans:

EVERYBODY is seeing the traitorous obstruction of the "republicans" and the traitorous obstruction and criminality of the orange MAGAt king.

President Biden is doing just fine:

President Biden got "republicans" to publicly declare during the state of the union that they wouldn’t touch social security and Medicare.

President Biden has exposed the "republicans" for the border hawk frauds that they always were.

President Biden has helped America avoid a recession, and the economy is remarkably strong.

President Biden has repaired America’s standing in the world, even though "republicans" are trying to sabotage those repairs.

👍

Nice work, President Biden!!!

👏

Also, thanks for admitting that Republicans don’t step out of their bubble. That a president has to jump through hoops so a certain segment of the population can hear and understand his message. It is one of the reasons why conservatives in places like these public forums get their asses handed to them so frequently.

A boomer making fun of a boomer for being a boomer. lol Okay, boomer.
Nitpick: Biden isn't a boomer, he's silent generation. The boomers start with 1946.

As for the Super Bowl, it's a football game, not a political anything. So what if he didn't want to be interviewed at an event where most people do not have politics on their minds?

Why didn't you mention that trump didn't do a SB interview?

WE KNOW WHY!

Yet Obama did the O’Reilly interview and wasn’t skewered. Far from it. He was articulate and effective.

Obama doesn't have a stutter. Besides, I think it was a mistake for him to bother with Fox News at all.

I like you. Here’s some friendly advice. I think you should stop complaining about access and go all in on censorship. Seriously. It’s not only Trump, but all Republicans loathe having to answer to the public. Their town halls are deeply vetted, if they have a debate at all. If you censored access then Republicans would be spared having to answer the gotcha questions that come with talking about hard subjects like the existence of slavery.

"...annual super bowl interview" ... laughing my fucking ass off.

Lol. Because Trump DID do SB interviews as presidents had been doing for 17 years before the cognitively declining Joe Biden opted out. Trump’s final SB interview was in 2020 with CBS Face the Nation host Margaret Brennen. Since Biden has again decided to go dark, Trump has offered to fill in.

What are you talking about?

You're the guy who got the gender wrong of a baby you were disparaging and using as political football, yes?

Yes, I misgendered the grandchild the sicko Biden family didn’t want to acknowledge. You made a false claim and got caught.
